Chapter 3 - Buggy the clown
═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═

"We're here, Master Zoro! Mistress Kimiko!"

Mistress?

I don't like being called that.

My eyebrow twitched as I maintain the forced smile on my face. I stared straight at the man who called me mistress. He flinched a bit, sweating when he noticed my heavy gaze and obviously fake smile.

"What's this? The village is empty? I cannot see anyone around..." Zoro muttered as he glances around, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Yes..."

I frowned at the silent town, looking at the first mate. We gave each other a silent nod before I walked over to the side of the boat, ready to hop off.

"The truth is our Buggy pirate fleet is here at the moment, raiding this village."

So that's why...

Figures...

"What do we do? What can we say to Captain Buggy? We've got nothing now."

"We'll just have to tell him the truth! We've no other choice since that bitch will be out somewhere on the sea by now."

I got off the boat while I listen to the two converse. From what I can tell, this pirate Buggy seems to be quite strict.

I glance behind me to see Zoro focus on me as well, we stared at each other for a while as a silent agreement was made.

'Don't drop your guard.'

"We better meet that 'Buggy' guy then... Cause we might be able to hear some information about Luffy." Zoro said as he stood beside me, hands on his three katana.

"Yeah. We could ask him." I mutter.

I cross my arms, making sure to touch a few of the needles pinned on my shorts to be sure that it was still in place. I always hid some in there as well as some lodged on the inside of my boot.

Since I'm quite good at handy work, I was able to teach myself how to throw a needle with pinpoint accuracy. It doesn't do much but it was able to keep me safe for the past few years of my life.

I heard that there was something called acupuncture and pressure points. I wanted to learn about it but no matter the amount of money I save, I still wasn't able to afford the books written about them.

Maybe with the change of occupation, I can earn a little bit more.

"Where is that idiot?" Zoro grumbled as we walked around the town, trying to even catch a glimpse of an all too familiar strawhat.

The first mate has been cursing under his breath for the past few minutes that we started walking. And I have gotten so used to it that I am now capable of blocking out the green head.

"Maybe he's somewhere, finally eating the bird." I grinned up at him, watching as he continued to furiously march along the pathway.
