Chapter 5 - No one should

I maintain a straight face as I stood in front of the lion and the beast tamer. I could spot Luffy watching us by the roof of a building, ready to help in case I can't hold it anymore.

"You're going to watch, captain?" I whispered while I tried to lessen my limping.

The black-haired teen is so strong. How can he be feeling alright after being swiped to a building?

I was thrown as well and I'm feeling like total shit.

"Yup!" Luffy grinned as he let me walk on my own. Courtesy of my continuous persevering.

"... You don't believe me?" I muttered more to myself but it seemed that Luffy heard it.

"I trust you, Kimiko! I want to watch how you beat up those bastards! Shishishi!" Captain smiled at me.

I just stared at him for a second. Observing his face, his expression.

Trust. Belief. Pride.

A bit of anger.

"I'll beat them well, captain," I stated as confident as I can in my already injured form.

The lion stopped a couple of ways away from me. Mohji frowned at my form before smirking a bit when he saw my messed-up state.

"Heh! Finally here to join Captain Buggy's crew?" Mohji yelled, crossing his arms at me.

"No. I'm here... to beat you up." I grinned at him, successfully knocking down his pride for a bit.

"Huh?!... HAHAHAHHA!!! You, a woman, is going to beat me up?! Your captain can't even hit me!" Mohji laughed obnoxiously.

"My captain, won't need to hit a weakling like you," I utter confidently as I stood a little bit straighter, my hands already grasping some of the remaining needles that I have on me.

"You bitch!!" The beast tamer growled before he quickly jumped to the side.

I didn't say anything, just quietly observe his movements.

"Richie! Kill her!!"

"GRRRR!!!"

I swiftly dashed out of the way as the lion gallops towards my previous position. I bit my lip at the sudden movement but I pushed the pain away once again.

I hurled my needles towards the animal, aiming at his head or his legs. I clicked my tongue when all I was able to hit was the former.

This would surely be a painful battle. After all, I'm not much of a fighter, to begin with. Hence why I need to finish this as soon as I can.

The lion roared at me when the discomfort caused by my weapon has been acknowledged. I jumped away, running around and not halting.
