<<<<<<<•>>>>>>>It was rare when Minjoo's instincts were off, so rare in fact that it had only ever happened once before and you couldn't even say that they were wrong, the girl just didn't listen to them.
It was when she had been stationed somewhere in the Middle East, the girls team at the time, it being a mix of foreign and Korean members, weren't able to share the missions information with her for some reason. But it seemed as though only the Korean members, her and two men, weren't allowed to know. That was the first reg flag, and Minjoo should of listened to her gut when it told her that she should of left the team. But she didn't, and that was her first mistake.
The second was when she had been told to secure the perimeter of the building they were infiltrating alone, the rest of her team waiting at the main entrance as she ran off to the other side of the compound. The third red flag was when she was pistol whipped by her own teammate, later waking up tied to a chair with a few new bruises and nightmares to add to the list of injuries and trauma she has suffered.
That situation alone made Minjoo understand the importance of self preservation and to always trust ones instincts, both things that Shijin also taught her. It was also one of her first missions where she had to leave her dog tags behind, them being the only identifiable thing she had at the time.
At first Minjoo didn't understand why as her dog tags were the only thing that could identify her if she were to die, but that was also the reason why she had to leave them behind. So when she realised that Shijin was gone, him having left his uniform, gun and most importantly his dog tags behind, Minjoo knew something was wrong.
So know both Minjoo and Daeyoung found themselves trying to track their team leader down, the two having help from the rest of Alpha Team in tracking down not only his whereabouts but Moyeon and Fatima's too.
But before the Alpha Team could set out on their mission Minjoo had to see a few people. So that's how she found herself standing out front of the Medi Cube, the girl walking up to the table that held all her doctor friends. They were all laughing at a joke that Sanghyeon had just told and as much as Minjoo didn't want to take away their fun, she had to.
This was hopefully not the last time she would see them, the girl already making plans with them all for when she returned to Korea. If she returned. Minjoo knew that the four doctors nurses understood how dangerous her job was and that one day she may not come back. Minjoo just hoped today she would.
Minji was the first to notice her, the girl smiling wide and waving to the soldier who was now dressed in her all black combat bear. "Minjoo, come join us!"
At her words the others turned to look at her, them having equally bright smiles on their faces as they saw their favourite soldier. Though Ja-ae seemed to be the only one who noticed Minjoo's strange demeanour.
"I can't." Minjoo said curtly, keeping her voice emotionless as she came to a stop at the head of the table. "Not this time."
"Why?" Chihoon asked, him now noticing the shift in behaviour and the stiffness of the girls body. She was standing at attention and her jaw was clenched, nothing like the Minjoo they grew to love. Their Minjoo's eyes disappeared when she smiled and talked with her hands when she was excited, she laughed at all of Sanghyeon's awful jokes and would always encourage Minji if she ever made a mistake. That girl would only disappeared when there was work to to done, work that could end with someone dying.
