Chapter 11: New Keeper

It had been a few weeks since (Y/n)'s detention with Umbridge, and he hadn't caused anymore trouble yet.

"Are you coming?" Ron asked him as he walked into the common room.

"Huh wha?" (Y/n) asked him then he remembered. "Oh right is that today?"

"Yeah, are you coming?"

"Yeah course I am" (Y/n) said. Today were the quidditch tryouts, and Ron was trying out for keeper.

"You're gonna go great mate I know you are. Just don't let the balls in the hoop. Imagine they all have Malfoy's face on them" (Y/n) said trying to stop him from worrying.

Ron laughed. "I'll keep that in mind"

They arrived at the pitch, and (Y/n) wished him luck one more time before going into the stands and finding Hermione.

"Do you think he'll make it?" Hermione asked him anxiously.

"Course he will 'Mione, and if not we'll just make our own team" he said with a grin.

Ron started off shakily, but he wasn't doing bad at all. He was no Wood of course, but he was still pretty good.

After a while Ron was the new Gryffindor keeper. (Y/n) and Hermione celebrated with Ron in the common room when Harry walked in.

"Harry I did it! I'm in! I'm keeper!" Ron cried to him, ambushing him as he entered.

"What? Oh good job that's brilliant " Harry said, trying to look normal, but failing.

(Y/n) and Hermione pulled him to the side. "What's up Harry?"

Harry then told them how his scar had burned when Umbridge had touched him.

"Do you think she's possessed? Like Quirrell?" Hermione asked him.

"She can't be right? I mean snakey boy has an actual body now so it can't be the same" (Y/n) said.

"Maybe the imperious curse?" Harry suggested. "Or... you don't think she's a death eater do you?"

"Wouldn't surprise me" (Y/n) said.

"I don't know. I mean she's horrible but I don't think she's a death eater" Hermione reasoned. "Listen Harry you should tell Dumbledore about your scar."

Harry frowned at this. "I'm not bothering him with this. It's been hurting all summer, it just hurt a bit more that's all"

"Harry I think Dumbledore would want to know about this" (Y/n) said.

"Yeah cause he only cares about my scar" Harry blurted out angrily.

"That's not true Harry" Hermione said to him.

"Yeah mate I'm sure he likes other things about you."

"Fine I'll write to Sirius about it" Harry said.

"You can't put that in a letter!" Hermione said to him.

"Yeah What would Moody think of that?" (Y/n) added.

"Fine! I won't tell him!" Harry said angrily, getting to his feet. "I'm going to bed"

"Me too, I was up until one this morning making hats. It's quite fun, do you want to help Harry?" Hermione said enthusiastically.

"Er... no I uh I have a lot of homework to do" he said before quickly running up to the dorms.

"I'll help you 'Mione, it seems like fun" (Y/n) told her. She smiled at that and then they both headed up to their respective dorms.

The next day Harry and Ron had their first quidditch practice, so (Y/n) and Hermione studied in the common room.

"We've got to do something about Umbridge!" Hermione Said.

(Y/n) yawned "course we do. How about we light her office on fire! Or better yet let's light her on fire!"

"How about we teach ourselves?" Hermione countered.

(Y/n) pouted. "I like my idea better"

Hermione sighed and shook her head. "We've got to be prepared for the owls" Hermione continued ignoring him "so why don't we teach ourselves"

"Yeah that's a brilliant idea" (Y/n) said "but where, and when, and who?"

"Well I was think that you and Harry could do it" Hermione Said.

"And you Hermione, you're the brightest witch in Hogwarts, there's no spell you can't do."

Hermione blushed at this "now we just need to figure out where"

"And when to ask Harry. Hey I've got a question for you"

"What's up (Y/n)?"

"Do you ever feel like someone is watching us? Like they can hear and see everything we do? Almost as if they watch us for entertainment?"

Hermione looked at him confused. "Are you feeling alright (Y/n)?"

"Yeah sorry just tired." (Y/n) said yawning, and laying his head on her shoulder falling asleep.

"How was practice?" Hermione asked, waking (Y/n) up and making him jump.

"Bloody hell! Oh you guys're back" (Y/n) said.

"Well it was-" Harry started.

"Completely lousy" Ron finished for him, sinking into a chair.

"Well it was only your first one" Hermione said.

"Who said it was me that made it lousy!" Ron snapped.

"Well based on how defensive you're getting..." (Y/n) trailed off after getting a look from Hermione.

"I'm going to start on some homework" Ron said angrily getting up and going to the dorm.

"Was he lousy?" Hermione asked Harry.

"No" Harry said quickly. Too quickly. (Y/n) gave him an incredulous look.

"Alright he could've played better, but it was only his first practice"

They sat around for a bit longer, before a tapping at the window distracted them.

"Look" Hermione said pointing at an owl tapping on the window "isn't that Hermes? Hermione said.

"Blimey it is" Ron said getting up and letting him in. "What's Percy writing to me for?"

Hermes flew over to Ron's easy and stuck out his leg proudly, in a way that reminded (Y/n) quite a bit of Percy.

The letter started out quite nice as a matter of fact. He congratulated Ron for becoming prefect, and said that he was happy that Ron was following in his footprints and not in Fred and George's.

He then went on to mock his parents and their loyalty to Dumbledore, and finally he ended by telling Ron to sever ties with (Y/n) and Harry.

"Well that was quite cheery wasn't it?" (Y/n) said to Ron, who was staring at the letter dumbfounded.

"Well" Said Harry trying not to laugh "if you want to... What was it? 'Sever ties' with me I promise not to get violent"

"No promises here Ron, I'll send you home in a match box!" (Y/n) said pulling out his wand.

"Oh sod off" Ron said to him, before tearing Percy's letter in half "He is" he tore it in half again "the world's" he tore it into quarters "biggest" he tore it into eighths "git!" He threw all the pieces into the fire.

They sat around for while before Harry knelt in front of the fire.

"Whatcha doing down there mate?" (Y/n) asked him.

"I've just seen Sirius's head in the fire"
