"You mean like during the Triwizard tournament? But he wouldn't do that now it's too dangero- Sirius!" Hermione gasped.
In the middle of the fire was Sirius face, the flames flickering around his face like his long dark hair.
"I thought you'd all go to bed before everyone else disappeared" he said grinning.
"Wait how long have you been popping in and out of the fire?" (Y/n) asked him.
"Long enough to know you and Hermione make a cute couple" Sirius said, making both (Y/n) and Hermione blush and Ron and Harry laugh at them.
"This was the only way I could think of answering Harry's letter without using a code, which can be broken."
Hermione, Ron and (Y/n) all turned to Harry. "You didn't tell us you wrote to Sirius!" Hermione Said to him.
"Yeah what else are you hiding? Oh my god you're secretly Umbridge aren't you! That's why you're always in her office!" (Y/n) said to him in mock surprise. Harry slapped the back of his head.
"It was fine there was no way anyone could get information out of it, was there Sirius?" Harry said in his defense.
"No it was very good Harry. Now about your scar. I know it's not fun when it hurts, but we don't think it's too big of a deal. You said it kept hurting all last year right?"
"Yeah Dumbledore said it happens whenever Voldemort is feeling a really strong emotion" Harry explained. "So maybe he was just really angry about something the night of my detention"
"Yeah maybe he stubbed his toe, or dropped his toast" (Y/n) said. "Or maybe someone made fun of his face"
"So you don't think it had anything to do with Umbridge?" Harry asked Sirius.
"I doubt it. I know her reputation and I don't think she's a death eater. She's a nasty piece of work though you should hear Remus talk about her"
"Lupin knows her?" (Y/n) asked surprised.
"Not exactly" Sirius said bitterly "she drafted a bit of anti-werewolf legislation two years ago that has made it hard for him to find a job"
"What's she got against werewolves?" Hermione asked him.
"Scared of them I suppose" Sirius said. "Apparently she against any part-humans. She campaigned to have the merpeople rounded up and tagged. Anyway what are her lessons like? Is she training you to kill half-breeds?"
"She not letting us do any magic at all!" Harry said.
"All we do is read the bloody textbook" Ron said.
"Figures. Our intel from the ministry says that the Fudge doesn't want you trained in combat"
"Trained in combat! What does he think we're doing? Forming an army?" Harry said.
"Can we? Please can we do that?" (Y/n) begged.
"That's exactly what Fudge thinks, he's afraid that Dumbledore will create a private army and overthrow the Ministry" Sirius said.
"Stop giving him ideas Sirius" Hermione said after seeing (Y/n)'s excited face.
"Fudge thinks Dumbledore will stop at nothing to seize power, he's getting paranoid, according to him Dumbledore is evil."
"Yeah well from my point of view the Ministry is evil." (Y/n) said.
"Yeah if that's the case then he really is lost" Harry added.
"At the rate this is going Fudge will have him arrest on some trumped up charge"
The day the front page of the paper read. "Ministry Seeks Educational Reform: Dolores Umbridge Appointed The First Ever High Inquisitor"
"Well you know what they say" (Y/n) muttered reading the headline. "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition"
"High inquisitor?" Said Harry darkly. They read on. "In an unprecedented move last night the ministry of magic passed new legislation giving an unprecedented amount of power at Hogwarts control of witchcraft and wizardry"
"God she's going to have control of the school soon" (Y/n) said.
Later that day they had potions in which Snape gave them back their graded papers, on which (Y/n) got an E, the same as Hermione.
Umbridge was also there to inspect the class. "So you applied for the Defense against the Dark Arts first?"
"Yes" Snape said bordily.
"And how did that go?"
"Well obviously he didn't he it get Umbridge, or you wouldn't be here" (Y/n) piped up.
"I wasn't asking you Mr. (L/n)!" She snapped at him.
"Do not discipline my students in my class Dolores" Snape said to her.
After that they had DADA, with Umbridge, in which she took ten points from (Y/n) for asking what chapter they were to read.
Hermione immediately put her hand up, and it took Umbridge over five minutes before she called on her.
"What is it this time Miss Granger?" She asked clearly annoyed.
"I've already read this chapter" Hermione Said
"Well then proceeded to the next one" Umbridge replied.
"I've read that too. I've read the whole book"
Umbridge then asked her what some geezer thought about counterjinxes, which Hermione nailed.
"But I disagree" Hermione went on.
"You do do you?"
"Yes, I do. Mr. Slinkhard doesn't like jinxes does he? But I think they can be very useful when used defensively." Hermione Said.
"Well I'm afraid your opinion doesn't matter in this classroom" Umbridge said.
"But-" Hermione started but was cut off by Umbridge.
"Miss Granger I am going to take five points from Gryffindor" The was an outburst at this point.
"What for!" Harry shouted.
"Because it goes against what her boyfriend Fudge wants" (Y/n) blurted out angrily.
"Thank you Mr. (L/n), I am also taking five points from you, and I'm giving you a warning" she said looking towards Hermione. "You wouldn't want anything worse would you?"
This shut (Y/n) up and he clenched his fists beneath the table.
"Your previous teachers in this subject may have been more lenient, but not one of them, with the exception of Professor Quirrell who did at least adhere himself to age appropriate subjects, would have passed a ministry inspection-"
"Yeah Quirrell was great" Harry said sarcastically "expect he had Voldemort's face sticking out of the back of his head!"
"I think another weeks worth of detentions would do you well Mr. Potter" she said gleefully.
