Out. Again.

Damn.

Relax. One more time.

About those pork buns, we'll get them tomorrow.

"OUT!!" Nishinoya shouted from the other side of the net. "Oi, Kageyama! How about you make one decent serve today, yeah?!"

"Tsk." The setter frowned. He looked at his hand and wondered why he just couldn't do anything right in practice today.

About those pork buns, we'll get them tomorrow.

"Arrrggggh!" His frustrated outburst was heard by everyone in the gym. They all watched as he marched over to pick up a ball and once again got ready to serve. The result was the same.

"Hey... did you have a fight with (L/N)-san?" Hinata asked with narrowed eyes as he carefully approached his raven-haired teammate.

"No. Now stop bothering me, boke," Kageyama curtly replied, irritated.

"Okay, then toss me some balls," the gingerhead grinned.

"No."

"Why not?!"

"Not until I get my serves right."

"Fine, but hurry up, Bakageyama."

Poor Hinata waited and waited but never got to hit a ball tossed by Kageyama. He fumed. He decided he was going to get to the bottom of this.

When practice was done, the first years gathered all the balls and did the tidying up. They were the last to use the club room to change out of their practice clothes.

Kageyama slung his bag onto his shoulder and took out his phone. He opened his messages and froze. He read one message over and over again.

From: (F/N)
Subject: Hey

Tobio-kun. I left early with Hiro-senpai. He's buying me pork buns. Yay! See you tomorrow! (^_^)

He was so focused on his phone that he didn't notice Hinata sneaking a peek over his shoulder. The shorter boy read the message and his eyes widened.

"Oooh. Did (L/N)-san go on a date?"

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi who were also in the room turned their attention to Kageyama when they heard what Hinata said. The setter closed his phone and silently walked out the door without a word.

"No wonder Kageyama was so distracted today," Yamaguchi commented.

"Not being able to focus because of a girl? How far the king has fallen."

Hinata looked at both of them with wide eyes. He didn't understand exactly what was going on with Kageyama, but he now had a vague idea because of Yamaguchi and Tsukishima.

"I'm going on ahead," the ginger called out as he ran out the door. He saw Kageyama just turning the corner of the school building and hastened to catch up with the boy.

"Oi, Kageyama! Wait up!"

Yachi, who was standing outside waiting, saw Hinata run past her.

"Hinata-kun!"

Hinata paused and turned towards her, "Let's go, Yachi-san! We need to catch up with Bakageyama!"

The said boy heard the two and decided to stop and wait for them. Normally, he'd find Hinata's excessive energy a pain, but tonight, he actually didn't mind the company. Weird.

"Soooo.." Hinata started hesitantly. "Why aren't you walking home with (L/N)-san today?"

Kageyama shrugged. "You read the text. That's all I know."
