"Liv!" I heard him yell. I spun around to face my boyfriend. A part of me was so relieved to see him, but a wave of nausea hit me also. I had missed him. I thought about him every day. And I just wanted him to make the tears stop and my heart stop aching.
Selena, Destiny, and I carried our luggage over to him waiting at the SUV. Slim got out of the car and helped the girls with their suitcases. Colson stood a foot in front of me. He seemed to tower over me, but maybe that's because I was feeling anxious and intimidated by him for the first time. He was tall but so was I so his few inches over me never made me feel so small.
"Hi," I forced out.
"Hey, baby," he replied. But his face and tone matched mine. Both of us scared and hesitant. "Uh, let me help you with that." He reached for the suitcase I was holding, our fingers brushing as he took it. There was an odd spark their that made me blush. "So... How was your flight?" He asked as we both moved to the trunk of the car while everyone else had already made their way into the vehicle.
"Fine," I lied. It was terrible. Destiny wouldn't shut up about Colson and I. Selena slept and snored the whole flight, nodding off against my shoulder. "Uh, thanks for picking us up."
