One thing came to mind, Shakespeare.
"These violent delights have violent ends, and in their triumph, die, like fire and powder, which as they kiss consume..."
I grab him by the shirt, pushing him against the locker room doors and press my lips to his. Though it surprises him, he doesn't hesitate to kiss me back. He keeps his hands to himself, occasionally touching my arm or face.
I break the kiss to say, "kiss me like you mean it, idiot."
He smirks and takes me by the waist like Trevor had tried to do, but I didn't stop him. He pulls me closer, keeping his hands on my hips. I wrap my arms around his neck and we start kissing again. It felt like fireworks were going off, there's a definite spark.
"as they kiss consume..."Suddenly, the sprinklers go off and the fire alarms start blaring. We are so consumed in the moment it was like the sound didn't exist. The lights from the alarms flash. Fireworks.
"like fire and powder..."
We stand there, uninterrupted by the scene. The water from the sprinklers began to soak our clothes. My black hair falls in long, wet strands, sticking to my back and shoulders. Though the water is cold, we're on fire. I could feel Cole's heart beating just as fast as mine.
"have violent ends..."The door I pushed Cole into unlocks and flies open, causing me to fall on top of him. He laughs and I tuck my hair behind my ear. He sits up, pulling me onto his lap, and rests his head on my shoulder. I smile, my heart still racing.
"I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you since the day I met you," he whispers, sending chills down my spine. My face gets hot as I blush.
"I mean it Em, I love you," he repeats.
I love you.
In my head, those three words echo over and over again. He lifts his head and I kiss him one more time.
What am I doing?
"in their triumph..."
He stands, helping me to my feet.
"We should probably get out of here," he suggests, keeping his eyes on me. I nod, looking down at the floor, trying to process everything that just happened. It was so unreal, like a dream or maybe a nightmare. He tucks more of my hair behind my ear then presses his lips to my forehead. Grabbing my hand, we walk across the gym and out a side door. The alarms and sprinklers had stopped and by the sound of things everyone had already reentered the school. With only half an hour left of school, we kept walking.
"Die..."
We arrive in the lot where Cole's car is parked and he picks me up, setting me on the hood of his glossy, electric blue Camaro.
"Damn..."
"Nice car, huh?"
I admired it, looking at every little detail.
"It's a beautiful car," I answer.
"Not as beautiful as you."
He's looking at me the same was I had been looking at his Camaro.
"Nah, this car is really sexy,"
He sighs, resting his hands on either side of me.
"Are you jealous of my love for your car?" I ask with a smile.
"Yes, that's 100% it. I'm so very jealous," he laughs. His gaze isn't on anything except my mouth. I could tell he wants to kiss me again, I kind of want to kiss him too. But I decide that we shouldn't start that again because my heart might explode.
Who am I kidding? My heart might explode just looking at him.
But he's nothing but trouble.
With my hands on his shoulders I slide off of the car, putting us face to face. We are so close our noses were almost touching.
"Wanna go for a ride?" He asks, still staring at my lips.
"Hmm. Why not?"
I run and jump in the passenger side seat. He shakes his head then walks over to the driver's side.
As he starts the car he says, "You know, one of these days you'll be just for me."
I roll my eyes.
"So, where are we goin'?"
He smirks and says nothing as he drives out of the parking lot.
"The Getaway". That's what he calls it. It's his secret, no one else knew about it until me. He flew down a driveway that could have been a road. It felt like we were driving down it for hours. It wasn't exactly a smooth ride, mud holes every few feet, hills, rocks, and no matter where we were at, the road was surrounded by thick forests. When we finally got to an opening, I understood why he kept it a secret. There was a stream that was connected to a small waterfall and in the center of the clearing was a two story, log cabin. Beautiful.
I was speechless. He puts the Camaro in park and walks around to open the door for me. I get out of the vehicle, still looking at the cabin.
"Wow," I exhale, forgetting any other vocabulary I had learned during my entire lifespan. Cole smiles, leading me up to the front door. He takes a key out of his pocket, unlocks the door, and holds it open like he did with the car door. I had forgotten we are both still soaking wet until my sneakers started to squeak on the floor.
"Well, shit."
Cole laughs at me while taking off his hoodie, shoes and socks.
He disappears for a minute and comes back with two towels and clothes.
He throws one of the towels at me as he dries his hair with the other. Then he starts taking his clothes off.
First he took off his jeans, keeping his boxers on. I pat my hair dry with the towel as I watch him, trying not to get caught. Then he pulls his shirt over his head and tosses it in the floor.
Damn it. He really is perfect.
Now, I know it's crazy that I haven't seen him in four years and I'm totally okay with this despite what his friends did but...
I can't help it. It's all his fault.
I had thought he looked muscular with the shirt on. Well now I can see every muscle (including a super sexy v-line), every scar, every bruise. It only makes me want him more. He glances at me and I look away. I can't see him but I can feel his amusement. My hair is still damp but it is dry enough. When I stand, straightening myself back up, Cole comes up behind me.
