Josephina

"Josephina."

Groaning, I turn around in my very comfortable bed. It's been a few days since I've started my period but even so, the cramps are still very much present. Usually I always want to sleep when I'm on my period but given my living situation, I couldn't do that because I'd have to work every single day and the amount of exhaustion and pain I'd have once I'd get home, is not something I would like to experience. Therefore, I'm taking full advantage of being able to sleep late and stay in bed all day.

"Josephina." I feel something weigh down the bed and that scares me ever so slightly, so I open my eyes and whine at whoever the person is that is trying to wake me up.

Looking towards the end of the bed, I see Xander sitting with his elbows on his knees and waiting patiently for me to wake up. I look over at him confused and sit up a bit more in bed while rubbing my eyes.

"What's going on?" I ask with a big yawn. Even though my eyes are still somewhat tried, I don't miss the small smile that passes over his face because of my big yawn.

"Did you forget that we planned to start going to the gym today."

My eyes widen slightly in realization and I groan, throwing myself backwards into the bed. Xander chuckles at my dramatic attitude.

As he said, we'd plan on going to the gym today. I didn't tell the siblings why I would like to start but they agreed that they'd join me whenever they're free too. I have my reasons on why I'd like to start going to the gym, the first being that in general I'd like to become more fit. My stamina isn't the highest and by exercising I can slowly but surely get that up. Another reason is that it would also increase my physical health a lot and after everything I've been going through, one of my biggest goals is to become more healthier, both mentally and physically. The last reason, which I do not want to admit to the siblings and Xander, is that I'd like to be of more help regarding there 'family business'. In a sense that, if anything must happen here in their house or when we're out and about together then I'd be able to hold my own somewhat, I plan on asking Xander to teach me how to defend myself as well. If I can become good enough for them not to worry about me in those situations then I think it'd be a great thing to invest time into.

I ain't saying that I'm going to start punching and killing people with them but I'd like to be able to defend myself and help them if needed during those situations when there's too many risks or things going on. The rest of the siblings are busy today, Ezra has been sent with other men for some sort of investigation, Felix has gone to school to go fetch his skateboard that he left there and Clara told me that she'll be in the kitchen all day trying out new recipes.

"I'm so sorry, I completely forgot but we can go now!" I say and for the first time since I woke up, which was all in 5 to 10 minutes ago, notice what Xander is wearing. He's wearing a black compression shirt and a pair of gray sweatpants. His hair is messy and it looks as if he just woke up as well, emphasizing the little bit of stubble starting to show. Not realizing that I'm allowing myself too, I let my eyes linger a bit on the amount of muscle showing through the compression shirt. I really have never met a man as handsome as Alexander.

"Don't do that."

My eyes snap back up to his eyes, forcing me to break out of my staring daze. I tilt my head in confusion and see that his eyes aren't even focused on mine. "Biting your lip, don't do that."

I didn't even know that I was biting my lip. All my thoughts were on how good he looks sitting on my bed right now, something that wouldn't usually cloud my thoughts either. I've never in my life looked at a man the way I look at Xander.
