Josephina
"More strength."
I bite my lip, to keep me from saying something out of pocket because the entire reason as to why I'm even in this gym, is for me to gain strength and increase my fitness. How are you going to tell me to use more strength when I don't got any?
"Josey, I can punch better that." Clara teases and asks me to step away. I nod and silently thank her for letting me take a break. She demonstrates what I should be doing and then motions for me to go again.
"Clara, I feel like this isn't the basics."
"Of course it's not. Start difficult and then you don't have to know the basics." She smiles and pats her self on the shoulder for her immense smartness. I laugh at her and shake my head.
After a few days, my period was finally over and I was back to a non complicated life. I'm being so serious, periods really force you to alter your entire life for just a few days and then it leaves again. So right now, I'm in the gym with Clara and we're practicing boxing techniques because I mentioned when we were having dinner that I'd like to learn how to defend myself. Let me also just mention, that Xander cooked us dinner and the man can cook and not only that but he looked so attractive doing it.
"That's not how you were taught, Lara." A deep voice joins in our conversation. Clara and I look over to see who it is and it's none other than Xander himself, dressed in basketball shorts and another compression t-shirt. How many of those does he have!?
Don't complain, Josey. Those muscles and tattoos are on full display and you didn't even have to ask for it.
I shake my head at my own thoughts and turn back to the punching bag. Clara scoffed at Xander's comment and walked over to where she put her water and takes a seat.
"And that is why it took me so long." She says and drinks at least half of her water finished. Not going to lie though, water does sound heavenly right now. With that thought in mind, I walk over and grab my own water.
"Are you trash talking my teaching?"
I look over at him, in slight surprise and hear Clara laugh next to me. He taught her? I guess if you want something done right then you have to do it yourself. I just kind of assumed that because they had so much money, why not hire the best physical trainer in their business? However, I don't know a lot so I shouldn't be assuming in the first place because I know firsthand how fucking annoying it is when someone else assumes your situation.
"I am, yes."
Xander shakes his head in amusement, at his younger sibling, who obviously finds it very entertaining to tease her brother. I smile too because it really is entertaining, I can't deny that.
"Try again, Josey." I nod at Clara and walk back to the punching bag. I don't really understand what I'm meant to do, like the stance feels uncomfortable and I have no idea where I'm supposed to be focusing my punch on.
I stand there for a few minutes, probably looking so stupid because I was trying to punch this black punching bag as hard as I could. As Clara told me to do.
"Like this."
I stop and turn around, watching as Xander walks over to me and pushes me gently away from the punching bag. He takes my hand and unfolds it from the fist that it was in.
"First thing you need to learn, thumb goes on the outside of your fist. Never in the inside because you could break it." He folds my hand into a fist and taps my thumb. I nod and focus on him.
