"A few more minutes."
I groan in response and up the incline on the treadmill that Clara forced me onto. The five of us have been staying at the safehouse that their dad built a while ago but the rest of the mafia members who stayed in their house fulltime are staying in the hotel where Xander called for a meeting. The very hotel that he almost blew into ashes.
"You know we need to up our game." Felix yells from the other side of the gym, busy lifting weights. It took him at least half an hour to decide what to do. He'd walk from the treadmill, to the weights section, to the section with the yoga mats and then every other gym equipment before he actually decided on what to do.
"I can just suggest Xander teach you. Would you like that, hmm?" Clara wiggles her eyebrows, smile so big that it's honestly blinding. I try my best to swat at her, while still running on the treadmill. She easily dodges and just giggles at my expression.
Listen, Xander is the most experienced and would therefore be the best teacher. However, he's always pushing the limits when he's in the gym and although it's really attractive to watch, it's not all fresh daisies when he's trying to get you to do it too. Besides that, the amount of times that we're in the gym together and he doesn't even do anything because he's forever behind me and helping me and then that causes me to not focus because he's always so close to me. It's also just so sweet to me that he's making sure I understand how to use the equipment and then stays to make sure that I don't hurt myself or stays with me incase I have any questions.
"Can we talk about something else, please?" I sigh and get off the treadmill. I've actually been doing really good when it comes to the gym. I've definitely started seeing obvious improvements in my physical health and overall fitness. My boxing has started taking shape as well, just in general getting enough to start learning a few complex techniques. I've been feeling a bit more confident in my body as well, the bruises almost gone and the wounds having healed pretty well. I have a lot of scars and it's something that I've always tried to hide from the public eye but being with the siblings, day in and day out, means them yelling at me for feeling insecure because they would never say anything.
Felix places down the weights and walks over to Clara and I. I take a seat on the floor, next to the treadmill that Clara is now on. Recently, by recently I mean after the attack, we've been working harder when in the gym. Xander instructed that everyone should be starting to go to the gym every single day and should be going to at least one training session a day. He said that it's important that everyone is on the top of their game. This includes me, although I'm still on a very different level compared to everyone else.
"Why don't we talk about that date my brother asked you on?"
He sits down next to me and nudges my shoulder, chuckling at my obvious attempt to shut him up. "I completely agree with you, dear brother of mine." Clara cheers and stops her running on the treadmill. She gets off and takes a seat with us on the floor as well.
"I'd prefer we don't." I use my hands to cover the blush creeping onto my face and the action only causes for them to start squealing ever more. They're acting so childish right now.
"Did you say yes?"
I scoff at their excitement and shake my head. "You're acting like he proposed to me."
"I mean, in due time he will." Felix shrugs, smirk on his face and quickly getting up to back away from me. My eyes bulge out out of my head and I'm immediately on my feet, trying my hardest to catch this annoying bastard, who's personality is literally made out of caramel popcorn.
