Oop- this is gonna be a rollercoaster chapter. So strap yourself in and prepare for tears

Above are the runes I created for both characters. I didn't make loads, only the main ones. But others will be mentioned at some point. This is just a reference so you know roughly what they look like!

"Can you read the runes?"

Harry took a moment to think. He glanced over to Draco, who's runes were quickly fading and tried to translate some of them.

"This one means 'protector', and this means 'dragon', and I think this one says 'fire' but I can't be sure. Oh and that one is 'love'" Before Harry could finish Draco's face was clear of runes. Hermione had made quick sketches of both Harry's and Draco's runes, but only managed a couple.

"Next time they show up, tell me. I wanna know everything." She said in an overly excited voice. She skipped away leaving Harry and Draco on the couch alone.

"So you can actually read them?" Draco whispered in awe.

"Of course. You can too. I didn't know I could before I tried. But when I focused it was as if the words were written on your face as plain as the day!" Harry gave a confident, happy smile that made Draco melt.

The two sat and talked about their discoveries for about an hour when a distressed cry drew their attention. It came from outside the burrow.

Harry's eyes lit up red, and Draco's a dusky orange. It startled both of them to the point their protective instincts kicked in. They shook of their initial shock and ran towards the sound.

Molly was knelt down above the body of Ginny. Her body was limp but her chest was moving. A comforting sign of life.

Three black figures stood menacingly at the edge of the fields. They wore white masks made of bone, and long pointed hoods.

"Death eaters." A growl from Harry alerted the three to the presence of the chosen one.

Piercing screeches rang out as the death eaters flew up in a cloud of black smoke. They surrounded the boys, who stood back to back, wands raised and ready.

"The famous Potter, who was too stubborn to die. Oh how the tables have turned." A slightly feminine voice cried from within the smoke.

"Draco! The former Malfoy heir. What a disappointment to your bloodline." This voice was recognisable as Lucius Malfoy.

"He is still a Malfoy, Lucius. He is still your son." A symphony of laughs rose above the sound of swirling smoke. Beams of green started flying from the abyss. The two dodged them easily, returning with spells of their own.

A deep cutting curse sliced Draco's leg and he fell to the ground. Harry whipped round with fire in his eyes.

"Enough!"

With a swipe of his hand the three death eaters froze in the air, shocked. Harry launched himself up into the air. A sweeping motion caused them to be flung into the swamp.

This sudden distraction had given Draco enough time to heal the cut and fly up to join Harry, the same anger in his orange eyes and Harry's red ones.

Draco looked in the direction of where the traitors had fallen. All of a sudden a ring of flames burst up around them, trapping them in a cage blistering heat.

Draco walked through the flames as if they weren't their. He walked up to Lucius, grabbed his throat and slammed him into the floor. His eyes flickered, removing his so called father's mask.

"Hello father. I bet you wish you had killed me when you had the chance." An evil smirk was plastered on his pale face, meeting Draco's fierce eyes.

"This is exactly what I wanted."

Harry had knocked out one of the death eaters, now turning his focus to the female. He muttered a few words and the witch was caught in a whirlwind. With a flick of his eyes her mask was off.

"Narcissa?" Her face grew dark, her eyes full of hate.

"You have turned my son into a monster."

Harry let out a growl that shook the earth. "He. Is. Not. A. Monster." With each word he took a step closer. The look of hatred slowly being replaced with fear as he drew closer to the witch. When he was only a couple of inches away, he raised his fist and punched her in the nose, knocking her out cold.

Meanwhile, Draco was still struggling with Lucius.

"What do you mean you wanted this?" Lucius' smirk grew into a manic grin. Draco tightened his grip around his throat, but his father was unfazed.

"You really think you are special. You're a monster Draco. There is a reason your kind went extinct. You are too dangerous to be kept alive. This will show everyone what you truly are."

"Draco." A scared shout from Harry made Draco's blood run cold. The fire had died down revealing a terrified group of reporters and flashing cameras.

"You did this. Why?" Draco screamed, letting go of his father completely. Harry pulled him back, trying to escape the flashes of the cameras.

"Because you deserve to die."

Draco let out an ear piercing roar and launched himself forward with such force that the cracking of bones could be heard miles away.

'What have I done. What have I done' Draco stared down at his father's lifeless body in terror. Harry tugged at his hand begging for him to leave, that it wasn't safe. But Draco was frozen to the spot.

A final tug from Harry brought Draco to his senses. Making sure to avoid the mob, they flew high up and disapperated.

-- time skip to the next morning. What you are about to read is a news article in the Daily Bugle --

'Harry James Potter and Draco Lucius Malfoy are guilty of the assault of Narcissa Malfoy and Jayce Oda, and the murder of Lucius Malfoy. They have yet to be found. Reports say that these two wizards have mutated powers. If they are found they are to be arrested, or if needs be killed, on the spot.'

"This is horrible. We have to help them." Hermione was pacing the floors, crumpling up the news paper in her fist. "If they could just understand that they didn't mean to do it. That it was their instinct..."

"It wouldn't do a bloody thing." Ron interrupted. He received hateful stares until he elaborated his point. "It wouldn't make a difference 'cause that bloody Lucius made it look like he was the victim. Even if they knew that the death eaters had attacked first, it wouldn't change the fact that Harry and Frack were seen in that state."

Molly let out a defeated sigh. "For once Ronald you may have a point."

"I agree. Knowing they can't control it would only make the hatred grow."

Hermione burst into tears.
Ron hugged Hermione, letting her nuzzle into his shoulder.

"I just hope they are alright. They are probably scared to death." She whispered into his shoulder

Wow ok so that was an adventure. I hate the way I have presented Lucius and Narcissa but it was necessary for the story so please don't hate me.

I personally love dark Harry so I had to include some of that!

Until next time
