Conversations with my OCD

Lights

I turn all the lights off and head to my room.

I know i turned them off. So why is it that the moment i lock my bedroom door they come.

You left a light on.

"I did not"

Here begins the struggle.

Yes you did, the bathroom light is on.

"No it's not, i turned it off" i speak clearly, hoping they would understand.

No you didn't and if you leave the light on all night you're gonna feel guilty in the morning.

"I turned it off"

But you didn't though.

"I turned it off" i repeat.

Are you sure? Because I'm not so sure that you're sure.

"I'm sure, if the light was on i would see it under my door"

How would you see it when your light is on?

I have no response. I have been bested.

Now get up and go turn the light off.

I yield.
