Kimiko Udai stepped into the gym with a yawn. She paused, realizing that Kageyama and Hinata were already in the gym practicing. 'It's not even 7 yet', she thought drearily. "Hi Kageyama-kun, Hinata-kun", she greeted the pair. Realizing her presence, the two sprinted over towards her and bombarded her with questions.
"Can you show us how to do that weird curve that went woooosh?"
"Hinata you idiot! It's not a wooosh curve, use your words!" Kageyama yelled angrily but followed Hinata's question asking,
"how did you receive our quick attack?"Frowning at the amount of noise coming from the two boys, she quickly responded. "Of course I can show you that wooosh curve, Hinata-san", she giggled. "And I was able to receive as I had assumed the ball was heading towards the back right of the court based on how you set the ball Kageyama-San."
Kageyama blushed at her giggle, feeling flustered. He didn't want to admit it, but she was an amazing player. Not even he could serve with that level of control yet. He looked up to see Hinata and Kimiko laughing about something he had missed. His heart heated faster, she was actually very beautiful too. Probably one of the prettiest girls he'd ever seen.
"Oi Kageyama! Why is your face so red!", Hinata exclaimed suddenly.
"BOKE HINATA BOKE", an angry aura developed around Kageyama, who was feeling extremely embarrassed now.
Kimiko decided to leave the two alone as they started rolling around the floor and head to her locker instead, too tired to try and break the two boys apart. Opening her locker, a letter fell out. 'What is this?' She wondered, studying the envelope with a heart drawn on the top corner.
"Kimiko-chan!" A pink haired girl rushed toward the brunette.
"Sakura-chan!", Kimiko exclaimed. The two girls had already become friends within a day of being deskmates.
"Look at this letter I got", she showed Sakura.
"Ohh, it's only the second day of school and you're getting love letters already Kimiko~, I'm so jealous", Sakura whined playfully. The pair laughed as they headed off to class together.
After school ~~
Practice had ended early today after Takeda ran into the gym, yelling that Aoba Johsai accepted a practice match with Karasuno. Kimiko Udai had decided to go out for a jog since it was still quite early, 7pm to be exact.
Deep in thought, she didn't notice a tall statured male running from the opposite direction until she had already collided with him. "Oww", she groaned, landing on her butt.
"Are you okay? You should be paying more attention." A monotone voice stated as the person helped her up.
Kimiko frowned, it wasn't entirely her fault. While she wasn't paying attention, he was going in the wrong direction. "But you weren't exactly going the right way either", she looked up, realizing that the male towered over her.
"I apologize if that was the case. It's my first time going on the trail."
She sighed, "it's ok, thank you for helping me up .....", she paused realizing she didn't know his name.
"Ushijima Wakatoshi".
"Ushijima-kun", she finished hesitantly before adding "My name is Kimiko Udai".
They jogged together for a bit engaging in some light conversation.
"What school do you go to Ushijima-san?", she was curious.
"Shiratorizawa", he responded gruffly.
"Mm, I haven't heard of it before", she mumbled causing Ushijima to stare at her. "I recently moved to Japan", she added realizing his shock behind his stoic expression.
"Where did you move from Kimiko-san?"
"New York. I lived there for most of my life so I do apologize for not recognizing your school. Are you in any clubs?"
"I'm the captain for the volleyball team".
Kimikos lips curved upwards "Oh? I play volleyball too!"
This peaked Ushijima's interest, "for what school?"
"Karasuno", a smile graced her lips.
"You should have come to Shiratorizawa", he deadpanned. From her appearance, he could guess she had a high athletic capability. Plus she was keeping pace with him just fine and they had been jogging for the past hour and a half now.
His statement caused Kimiko to laugh. "I didn't even know Shiratorizawa was a school until today, remember? Even still, I'll always be a crow."
After a while, Ushijima offered to walk her home, to which she refused. However, he kept insisting and she gave in, not minding the company.
"7pm tomorrow?" Ushijima's voice sounded before she could walk into her apartment.
"7pm", she confirmed, turning around to wave at him before he left.
And that was how her evening jogs with Ushijima had started.
