"Aaaakkkkaashi!" Kimiko exclaimed as a black-haired male came into her view.
Akaashi lifted his head to see a happy Kimiko barreling towards him. He couldn't help but smile when he saw Kimiko's rosy cheeks peek out from her scarf. After a lot of convincing, he finally gave into Kimiko's plead for him to explore around Hyogo after practice.
"I still don't understand why you want to look around when we're leaving in two days", he told her, stepping away from the wall he was leaning on.
"I told you, I have a hunch I'll have to come back here so it's better to know the town now than later", Kimiko said exasperated as she tried to keep up with Akaashi's pace. "Hey walk slower", she tugged on his sleeve.
"Fine fine, where are we going first?" Akaashi mumbled, slowing down his steps to walk beside the shorter girl.
"Hmm, I just want to look around to see what is where", she responded, dropping her grasp on his hoodie.
The pair fell into a comfortable silence. Occasionally, Kimiko's arms would brush against Akaashi's, which the latter secretly enjoyed. Not that he would ever admit this aloud.
Despite Kimiko's over-enthusiastic attitude, Akaashi felt her presence rather calming. She didn't mind his silent nature and kept herself entertained. Over the years, they had gotten to know each other well enough to develop a mutual bond of trust. Akaashi, also developing romantic attractions as well, but he pushed it down in fear of ruining the friendship they shared with Bokuto.
"Why did you become a setter Akaashi?" Kimiko asked out of the blue. The question just sprang into her mind while she was trying to plan out some new volleyball formations.
"I'm not sure. I think I got used to setting after Bokuto made me toss for him everyday when we were younger. Why did you become an ace?"
"To see the face the opponent's makes after I spike the ball down", Kimiko said with a devilish smile.
Akaashi sighed, smacking the top of her head causing the female to groan.
"I don't knoww, it just feels good to spike a ball", she answered sincerely this time. She truly did enjoy the very action of spiking the ball. Everything about spiking just felt right, from hitting the ball to the sting that lingered on her palm.
"If I didn't know better, I would think Bokuto wanted to be an ace for the attention", she snickered when a memory of Bokuto basking in his fangirls' cheers popped into her head.
"Hmm", Akaashi agreed from his experiences of trying to cheer up the ace whenever he went into 'emo' mode.
As they continued walking, a small shop sprang up in the corner of Kimiko's eye, catching her attention. "Wait, lets go in here for a bit", Kimiko grabbed the setter's hand, dragging him in the direction of the store.
