"I didn't know you were such a science geek Tetsurou-san", Kimiko mused in a hushed tone, watching the middle blocker's face contort into a smug expression from behind the screen as her feet hit a steady rhythm along the sidewalk.

"You never asked. I'm amazingly smart you know", he responded, drying his face with the towel seated around his neck before sitting down onto the metal bleachers of the Nekoma gym.

"I supposed I should've assumed so when you used that pickup line. What was it again? If I had a choice between DNA and RNA, I would choose RNA because it has U in it?" She snickered and Kuroo's face visibly reddened on her phone.

"Oya? I'm surprised you remember", he said with a smirk. "Did you fall for me back then already?" He taunted haughtily, his damp bed hair falling over his forehead as he gave her a a suggestive look .

"You forget who you're talking to", she drawled, touching her pointer finger to her temples. "I ranked 3rd in a national youth memory contest."

"Hi Yaku-san, tell Lev I said hi as well." She chuckled at the background noise increased three fold. "Sadly, I have to go now. Bye Tetsuro-san, Yaku-san", she said, giving the pair a smile before hanging up the call and pulling her earbuds out.

While her parents did make her take extra classes to preserve and expand on her Japanese skills, moving to America for so long took it's toll on her expertise.

Fortunately, Oikawa and Iwazumi offered their help like the good upperclassmen they were, and invited her to study with them at the library. She honestly didn't know what was more surprising. The fact that they were helping out a rival school member, or the fact that Iwaizumi had the capability to study with Oikawa without exploding in anger.
