Zach

This was strange. This was new to me. My mom prepared dinner and asked Alex to stay and eat with us. I wanted Alex to not accept her offer because this was risky. One wrong move and my mom could find out about us. Alex assured me that we would be careful before we went to the dining area from my room.

May was already there, phone in her hands, she looked up at us as we approach the dining table.

"Hi Alex." She greeted. Alex nodded and greeted back.

"Where's the hi Zach?" I demanded jokingly.

"Hi stupid." May bantered, rolled her eyes and went back to her phone.

"You need cold water?" Alex whispered to me. "I think your sister just burned your sexy ass."

"Ignore her," I whispered back. "You think my ass is sexy?"

"Shut up, your mom is here." Alex paused and then gave me a wink.

We sat on the our dining table. I was nervous even though I was in my safe zone, my house. Alex looked nervous too. My mom eventually served the food she made. It smelled good, despite the fact that she wasnt the best cook.

"So Alex," My mom started a conversation. May was observing, I was nervously picking the food on my plate and Alex seemed like he was about to pass out. "How's school?"

"Its great, so far." Alex answered, while chewing a piece of chicken meat from his plate. "Its our last year, so I'm trying my best to make the most out of it."

"That's good to hear," My mom smiled. Good, she wasnt suspecting anything.

They started talking about Alex's family. My mom specifically asked about Deputy Standall, thay had met already. Alex was finally feeling comfortable, I could see it on his body posture. His voice was no longer shaky. Maybe a dinner with my mom and Alex wasnt exactly that bad.

And then my mom started shooting uncomfortable questions. Not necesarilly but it was uncomfortable for me.

"Alex, you have any girlfriend?" My mom poured herself a glass of orange juice.

Alex almost choked on the chicken he was eating. I choked on the chicken I was eating. May gave me a pat on the back as I gulped the glass of ice cold water beside my plate.

Alex glanced at me, raising his eyebrows. He was asking for help but I was also panicking. We're fucked.

"Aren't you dating that chinese girl from your batch?" May stepped in and instead of feeling relief I felt my ears heat up. I looked at May in disbelief. An asian girl? Really? She was obviously talking about me.

"Huh?" Alex's eyebrows were knitted, confusion written all over his face. And then as if an angel whispered in his ear, he finally got what May meant. "Oh. Oh. Yeah, im dating someone from my batch."

"A chinese girl?" My mom faced me. "I've been telling Zach to date a chinese girl. Didn't you tell me there were none at your school?"

"He's- um," Alex stuttered, trying to save me. "She. I mean, she's a transferee."

"Yeah," I coughed. I glanced at May and she was living for this moment. "H- She wasnt exactly my type."

"And who's your type?" My mom asked me, her tone was starting to get high. "That Chloe girl, I've been telling you to stop seeing? I tell you Zach, she's not a good influence on you."

"We already broke up, mom" I blurted out.

"Oh," My mom beamed from one ear to another. "That's good, now you can finally find a decent girl to date."

My mom would die if she found out im dating a guy. Not just some guy but the guy in front of her right now, eating the chicken she roasted.

My mom would get a heart attack if she found out I was dating Alex Standall.

I mean to be fair, Alex would tick off all of my mom's criteria of a decent girl.

"Chloe is decent girl." I talked back. Chloe was a good person, and she was nothing but a supportive girlfriend when we were dating. My mom just didnt like her.

"Not to me," She stated as if it was her decision wether a person was decent or not. "Anyways. Emily, Luke's mom, invited us over dinner tomorrow."

Alex and I looked at each other. My eyes widened at the mention of Luke's name. Can Luke back the fuck off? I wanted to enjoy this not so enjoyable dinner with my family and my boyfriend.

"I can't go," May pouted at my mom. "I have plans tomorrow night."

"Then cancel that plan," My mom smiled at my sister and there was a hidden meaning behind her smile. She was not having my sister's reason but she didnt want to get mad at her in front of a visitor. "I already told Emily we will all be there."

May sighed and just nodded. We both doesnt like those family dinner with my mom's friend. Especially now that it would be in Luke's house, with him and his family. I wanted to tell my mom that I couldnt but knowing her, she wouldnt let me get away on this one.

The dinner ended and I asked Alex to stay in my room for a few more hours. I would drive him home anyway so he doesnt really have a choice.

"That was weird," Alex was lying down on my bed. I was fixing my study table, I threw an empty coke can Alex drank earlier in the trash can. "It wasnt that bad though."

"You tell me," I lied down beside him, facing him. He turned to me. "So, you dating that asian chick? You're straight now, Standall?"

"Yeah. We just had sex last night," Alex smirked at me. "Best heterosexual sex ever."

I leaned forward and kissed him. He kissed back, biting my lower lip. Calm down, vampire.

"Hey," I smiled, remembered something funny from our past. "Remember sophomore year?"

"What about it?" Alex squinted.

"When you were frustrated that Justin was back and you were afraid he was going to steal Jessica from you," I poked his nose. "Remember when you were so mad and I tried to stop you from punching the lockers near the school pool?"

Alex covered his face with both of his hands in embarrasment.

"You had a boner in the middle of that," I grabbed his hands, I wanted to see his face. "Did you like me back then?"

"Nah," Alex's face was tomato red. "I mean, I've always looked up to you. Thought you were handsome and hot. Thats all."

"Sure, Alex."

-

Im so sorry! I know its already late from my usual update time but I had to take an extra hour of sleep earlier because I had an unexpected headache. Yikes.

Anyway. Hope you're enjoying this story. (Because I really enjoy writing it)

Question for my readers: if you could meet one celebrity for the rest of your life who would it be?

If it wasnt obvious, mine would be Miles Heizer. I just love him so fucking much. He's the most precious, beautiful thing that God created.
