You wake up in your makeshift bed; well, more like mattress, wanting to go back to sleep so you could avoid the harsh reality you live. your wings were aching and stiff, and your tail was stinging from the unhygienic room you had and the many lacerations made with knives. You never had good parents either, if that was hard to see, they were aggressive and abusive.

They enjoyed ridiculing you for your abnormal looks, sometimes impairing your wingspan, or hitting you for their amusement. you peer over at your cracked mirror and walk up to it, grabbing your school clothes from atop a crumpled cardboard box beside a chipped wooden chair. You take a look at the state you're in, brushing the f/c hair from your face and eyes, able to somewhat admire how your hair has a fade to s/f/c from a nice f/c.

You work past your aches, and get dressed into your school's uniform, your tail tucked in with your wings inside your pants and shirt respectively, and a s/f/c silk scarf around your neck, replacing your torn tie, and head downstairs attempting to avoid conflict with your adoptive parents. Your school uniform was very constrictive on your wings to keep them hidden, and you knew this would slow your pace, so you kept trying to adjust it as you head towards the dirty kitchen counter, tucking a necklace, that you got from a time you can't remember, into your inside pocket, the necklace a shaped Ruby heart woven in golden weaves.

You grabbed some food you had made previously, but as your parents had one of their sessions of beating you yesterday, you couldn't get a chance to eat it before having to run to your room; you packed it into a small food bag, and then into your ragged brown rucksack. And so with the food packed, you head towards the door out of the building, not focusing too much as it's the morning.

Before you realised your mistake in timing, your so called "father" spots you, and snarls angrily; "Where do you think your going off to, abomination!?" you reply with; "school, 'father'." trying your best not to agitate him, but still giving him a truthful response as you make your way around his fierce stance, oblivious to his rising irritation.

Unfortunately, before you could leave, he punches you without warning directly to the spine with a small click, and knocks you to the ground from the unexpected force, once kicking your gut, and then taking a heavy step on your fragile wingspan, that was sticking out, with destinct animosity, breaking one of your wings in a few places whilst you let out a yelp in pain from the aggressive twisting of skin as he turns his foot, whimpering at the powerful sensation of pain. There were tears forming in your eyes as this punishment continued for a somewhat short period.

After getting the satisfaction of watching you whimper, and having damaged your wings from his actions, he cocks his head down to your injured form and finally remarks; "now you've learned your place, stay away from me, you hellish brat, or I'll beat you senseless for the revolting freak you are!". You silently cursed his language towards you, but were used to it by now, getting up to stance with extreme effort and pain.

your wings should be able to heal with some coaxing, so you got out some bandages, and bandaged your fragile wings, as you see the white hues of colour in the bandages turn maroon and violet. You then head off to school, ignoring the aching and sting all over your body by whimpering softly to yourself, and wiping the tears away with the silk of your scarf. You had a feeling that this day was going to be draining. Very draining.
