1st Place:

Wolf & Hood by KnightofEmpires

Score: 94/100

Review: The book cover of the story pictures the genre, the overall plot and the setting of the story. It provides an attractive first impression. The blurb description is attractive. But it could be made more attractive by giving an in-depth overview of Vincent's goal. To protect his people. A spin-off of the classic and naming the story as Wolf and Hood are very attractive. It brings out the plot a bit. The title is catchy and attractive for the readers. The plot proceeds at a good pace, the narration flow is not disrupted throughout the story. The plot does have originality of its own. No plot holes found. An organised consistent POV was used. The setting of the story introducing almost all the clans is also very interesting. Grammatical mistakes were avoided. The writing style of the author is appreciable. No disruptive flow in terms of language or POV. A very creative approach to the story. The story stands out from normal werewolves stories focusing only on the usual imprinting/bond/transformation. The way a mystery is woven in with both the leads out for revenge for their own cause. The way Vincent Wolf is described in a more humane way is appreciable while still covering his primal side. The sentence building was good. Proper usage of syntax. The way the author lets the reader see all the characters with a glimpse of secret around their existence, it just enhances the supernatural approach to the story. The story successfully grabs the attention of the reader. The character built of Ally to be a headstrong independent woman, never getting intimidated even when facing danger, at the same time is a sweet kind woman - This realistic character of the protagonists is really appreciable. The thoughts of the characters are able to be conveyed to the readers. The goal of the story cannot be described yet as the story is still ongoing. As far as it is written, the goals are conveyed to the readers. Like the determination with which Vincent moves on to investigate the reason behind the deaths of his people. My overall thoughts are that the story has a very fresh approach for a werewolf story. The way the element of mystery was added with the spread of a disease like death among the werewolf clan actually grabs the attention of the reader very well.

2nd Place:

Moon Curse by Veronicarains

Score: 92/100

Review: The novel is an absolute piece of art. The text features a great amount of detail and is written almost to perfection. At first glance, with the book cover and the summary, the summary is found to be a bit lengthy however, it does not fail to capture the reader's attention. The cover, on the other hand, needs a bit of work to make it more appealing to the eye. Other than that, I appreciate the chapter lengths, as they really allow me to get lost with each chapter. The only other thing, aside from the cover I would critique on is the way the summary of the book is written in the first page, the bolded text does take away from the book as a whole and can be a bit straining on the eyes. Other than the two flaws the book is great and I absolutely adore the plot!
