18-Birthday Surprise

-Steff P.O.V-

I open the light and my eyes widened at the view in front of me.

"Surprise! Happy birthday Steff!"

I look at them surprised. My tears start to flow. Agad ko naman yung pinahid. The whole Basketball varsity is here except Clark. Rica is also here and my two besties. Lahat sila ay naka party hat. May mga nakasabit rin sa buong condo ni Jared.

"Happy birthday bessy."

Lumapit sila sa akin dala ang cake. They are Alexa and Lexie.

"Make a wish now Missy."

I close my eyes and make a wish then blow the candle.

"Yuhoo! Party time!"

Agad silang umalis. Lumapit naman si Rica sa akin.

"Happy birthday bitch!"

"Duh! Whatever!"

She smiled and hug me. Agad din siyang lumayo. All of them gave me a hug then left. And now for the last person. He look at me. Heto na naman po yung kaba sa puso ko. I still remember the kiss before. And I can feel my face turns to red. He smirked and gave me a hug.

"Happy birthday Steff."

His hands touch my collarbone. My eyes widened. Im wearing a gold necklace with a heart pendant. There's babe engraved on it. At the side of pendant there's also something engrave on it."I love you Steff". My tears falls again as I look at him. He chuckled and dried my tears.

"Sorry about the party. I can't throw a big one."

I pulled him into a hug. I look at the people around us. They all smiling to me. I smiled back. The real one that made them gasp.

"Steff?"

"This is too much Jared. Thank you."

I gave him a peck on the lips. A shy smile plastered on his face.

"Yuhoo lovebirds the food is waiting."

"We're coming!"

He put his arms on my shoulder and walked through them. It's just a simple celebration but I am so happy. After kumain ay nag inuman lang kami habang ang iba ay naglalaro ng video games. Lumapit sa akin ang tatlong babae.

"So what's the score between the two of you?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, Rica told us about you and Clark."

"Yeah! If Jared don't invite us here we will never know about it."

"Sorry girls. I'm just busy."

"Too busy on her stepsister."

"Rica!"

"What? They have the right to know."

"So this stepsister of yours is the reason of that break-up?"

"Yeah!"

"So how are you now?"

Napatingin ako sa boys ng maghiyawan sila. Napangiti ako ng makitang si Jared ang tinutukso nila.

"I must say she's fine and inspired."

"Huh?"

Napatingin ako kay Lexie. Nginitian nila ako ng malisyoso. Teka?

"So are you dating him?"

"Who?"

"Jared Montenegro girl. Duh!"

"We're just bestfriends girls."

"Bestfriend lang ba talaga?"

They all looked at me. Napatingin ako kay Jared. When he looked at me he smiled sweetly that made my heart skip a beat. I smiled back at him.

"The way you look at him doesn't tell us that he is just a bestfriend Steff."

"Yeah! You never look at Clark that way."

"Plus bestfriend don't kiss on the lips."

I look at them. They all smiled at me maliciously.

"He's already inlove with someone else."

"But you like him?"

"I don't know. Yes we flirt with each other but nothing more."

"Kilala namin ang babaing mahal ni Jared."

Napatingin ako kay Alexa. They became serious while looking at Jared who's having a good time with the boys.

"Did I know her?"

"Maybe. Jared love her very much. He's willing to get hurt just to see her happy."

"Tanga yang bestfriend mo ei. Nasasaktan na nga siya pero sige parin."

"Ewan ko ba kung manhid ba talaga ang babae or just afraid to recognize it."

Napatahimik ako. Kahit si Rica kilala niya ang babae. I look at Jared. For those years he's always there to comfort me. But me, I never ask him if he was okay. What kind of bestfriend of me? I always thinking of myself. But Jared is always there. He always tried to make me happy.

"Enough for this drama. C'mon lets join them."

They grab me and joined the boys. We've been drinking all night until they passed out. Boys sleep on the floor while the ladies where on the bed. I look around. Jared is not here. Tumayo ako saka lumabas ng kwarto. I found him cleaning the sala and kitchen. He look at me then smile. Nang matapos ay umupo siya sa sofa. He patted his side telling me to sit beside him. Agad naman akong lumapit.

"Are you happy?"

"Yeah! Thanks."

"Just for you."

He hug me then lay down. I gasp. Tumagilid siya. The sofa was big. I'm between of his arms. We're so close to each other. My hands on his chest. His heartbeat is so fast. I look up to him. His eyes are close.

"Jared?"

"Hmm?"

"This girl you love? Have you tried confessing your feelings?"

"I told her I love her."

"And?"

"I don't know."

I close my eyes as I felt comfortable with his hold. We also both adjusted to the size of the sofa.

"Would you believe if I tell you , it's you."

"Huh?"

I look at him. He open his eyes and kiss me on my forehead then to my nose and to my cheeks. He look at me seriously. I close my eyes as he lean closer. Then his lips claim mine. It's sweet and a passionate kiss. It felt so right. I feel so safe on his arms. When our lips parted I feel so loved. I bury my face on his chest trying to hide my tear. Is it really me Jared? But why me? I don't deserve a guy like him. He kiss my head and hug me tight.

"I love you Steff. Sleep well."
