It's been quite long now, since we parted our ways. His memories didn't linger to the day, may be I'd found a way out to start a new me and my restarted life. Life has nothing to do with the lost ones but memories do! Yeah, I know it's a sad part of memories, but yes they do have a major role over your future. I was waiting for one, that could make me happy just like I was before, or may be not, because I'd found a new me who didn't want any man to make her life worth living anymore. I was an Independent lady now with diplomatic ways to deal my life.

Dark clouds had taken over the blue sunny sky. I hate grey weathers, they make a day look dull.
"Namastey Memsaab", a Nepali accent greeted Preet just as she exited her new Govt. Villa.
"Namastey, Prakash ji. Aaj aane me late hojayega aap kisiko bina ijazat aane na de", Preet instructed her watch guard. (Good morning, Prakash ji. I'll be late today, don't allow anyone go inside without permission).
"Thik hai, memsaab", salutes her closing the big iron gate. (Okay ma'am).

"Memsaab gulaabi saadi jach rahi hai aap par". (Pink saree suits you ma'am).
"Shukriya dharam ji", Preet smiles. (Thank you)
"Aaj baarish hone ko hai. Aap chhata zarur le jana", driver speaks politely taking a long smooth turn. (It's reported that it'll rain today. You carry an umbrella).
"Okay, dharam ji. I'll make sure I carry the umbrella", reading the newspaper, "Dharam ji aaj toh toofan bhi ayega. Aap aaj jaldi chale jana, risk na lena", Preet sounds worried. (Dharam ji thunderstorms will occur. You go home soon. Don't take risk).

"Why has silence taken over office today!", Exclaims Preet seeing her colleagues.
"Didn't you hear about the news today, Miss. Singh?", Pratham sneaks from the corner breaking her sentence.
"I've a bad feeling since morning as if there's something not good. Anyways what's the news about Pratham?"
"Every news channel talked about heavy thunderstorms that are going to hit North India by 4:57pm!", Pratham's words scared everyone in the office.
"Haanji Saheb, mene toh yeh bhi suna hai ki toofan boht ghatak honewala hai. Tabahi machane wale hoga", Peon places the tea cups on the tables. (Yes Sir, I also heard that thunderstorms will be at its peak. It'll cause destruction).

Lord, look after everyone just as your children. May there be no harm to anyone.

Rain began! Drizzling followed by heavy rain at 3:08pm.
"Sir, since most of the work is done can everyone leave early today?", Preet speaks to the senior most officer, Mr.. "News also has shown alert signs, Isn't it, Sir? So.....?".
"Yes Sir, we'd like to leave early today sir, only today", Monica and Pratham said.
"Okay, by 4:30pm you all can leave. May be by then rain would reduce it's downpour", Mr. said looking at the window and sipping his 'early-evening Tea'.

"Thank you, sir".

Rains raged, thunders roared.
Silence took over the office again, but a thud of big tree falling broke it! It's sound gave all of us a mini heart attack! That big tree collapsed on electricity pole. Now electricity supply got cut and darkened the room.
Monica's trembling voice was at another level, "What if world ends today? I mean look at the weather out there?!"
My Phone beeped. I shivered, it was Mom. Is Mom alright?
"Hello beta, where are you? When are you coming home?", She sounded worried. I could hear voices from behind, may be it was the TV or News.
"Yes mom, I'm alright. I'm coming home in 15 mins. Take care Mom. Bye".
"Relax, Mrs. Monica it's just a thunderstorm. It comes and goes like any other weather condition", Pratham laughed, "Enjoy the lovely weather".
Another voice spoke again, "I wish I get pakoras from somewhere! And yes, chutney too!"
Avoiding negative thoughts, "Haanji, Mr.Saxena and weather would just look good!", Preet said.
"It's 4:31pm Sir, can we leave now? It's drizzling we can reach home safely. At least for 20 minutes it'll be drizzling, I guess?", Monica said.
"Yes you can, Miss. Monica", laughed Mr.

Preet slammed the car's door, "Dharam ji, chaliye. Mujhe ghar chhodkar aap apne ghar chale jana", Preet said quickly. (Let's move Dharam ji. You leave for your home soon after dropping me).
"Ji Memsaab". (Yes, ma'am).

Most of the roads were flooded, many trees fallen, few on cars, few on slums and many other horrifying scenes that made me scared like hell! I kept praying that everything be alright. But nothing seemed working, each road had a terrific scene to view.

"Dharam ji jaldi chaliye, yeh sab dekha nahi jaa raha, please", Preet shouts. (Dharam ji fast! I can't see all this!).
"Memsaab gaadi kharab ho sakti hai or baarish se koi bhaag raha ho toh use bhi khatra hai. Samjhiye", Driver speaks impolitely. (Ma'am speeding up can cause vehicle to break. And what if someone crossing or running on the road comes in contact?!)
"I can understand Dharam ji, yeh time hi esa hai. Aap mujhe ghar chhodkar Ghar chale jana". (This time! Can't help. You drop me and go home safe).

"Salam Memsaab", Nepali accent again.
"Haanji, Prakash ji jaldi kholiye" (Prakash ji, fast please).
Big iron gate opens and car goes in to the garage side. Seeing Dharam ji park the car inside the garage, "How will you go, Dharam ji? Take the car with you today. Go safe, take care".
"Okay, Memsaab".

"Look at you beta, it's cold today. Go change yourself and come to the dining table I've made you a tomato soup and pakoras", Mom says.
"OMG! Yes mom give me 10 mins and I'll be there on the dining table".

Hmm, where's my pyjamas? Yep there it is! And my pink top there! Let's go Preet hot pakoras are waiting!!

"Hmm, Preet really!? "Mom looks shocked.
"What happened Mom? Please don't scare me I know weather is bad out there!", Preet responds in the same tone as her mom's.
"Preet, I'm seeing that you've become punctual!", Mom says politely, "I'm proud of you beta. These years you've given so much to your career and family beta. I'm proud of you, my darling", kisses her forehead.
"Mom", hugs her.
"Don't go tomorrow, if it's clear only then you go beta. Otherwise have a day off. Situation isn't good out there Preet", mom insists.
"Okay Mom, let's check out what's gonna happen tomorrow, what news says", Preet says hugging her Mom.

Headline read, "18 dead and 60 missing in the floods".
"Mom, I'll have a day off tomorrow. I'm not going"
"Yes beta, that's what I said".
I was reading headlines just then something caught my eyes, it read "Senior officer, Ayushmann Malhotra of Auditing department is missing".
"No way! Just tell me it's not him! Noo! Please!", Preet shouts.
"What happened, Preet?! Calm down", mom asks worriedly, "What did you see?"
"Mom read the headlines, look what it's reporting!"
"Senior officer......, beta may be it's someone else, there are so many Ayushmann in this world. Relax".
"No Mom, he worked in the same mentioned department! It is him".
"I guess Preet you should change the channel, scenes and headlines are disturbing you. Go take rest my Princess, you're tired. Don't stress, it's someone else. I'm sure".
"May be I'm overthinking Mom. You're right I should take rest. My head's aching".
"Go to your bed beta, I'll get you ginger tea and some medicines".
"Okay Mom".

Lying in the bed brought many negative thoughts about Ayushmann. Moreover, past flashed since I saw that news. Memories of him visiting me through balcony side, our meetings in the park, our first kiss, every scene moved before my eyes. Tears rolled down my cheek with every memory that started deepening.

I could hear footsteps coming towards my room. Quickly I wiped my tears and went to the bathroom to wash my face.
"Preet! Are you in bathroom?"
"Yes Mom! Coming"
"Here's your tea and Paracetamol, have it Preet, fever too will go away. First have tea and some biscuits, then have the medicine".
"I'm not hungry mom"
"Then have medicine and go to sleep"
"Mom I've a special meeting tomorrow I'll have to go"
"Is it important?".
"Of course Mom, or I would've stayed".
"Okay beta, take care please. Weather conditions are supposed to stay like this for a week", caresses her hair.
Sorry mom I lied to you. "Don't worry mom, I'll be home soon", kisses Mom's hands.
"Okay beta, take care. Call me if you need anything", switches the lights off and closes the door.

Ayushmann you're a stronger man I've ever met this while. You can't be missing they've got you wrong. I know where ever you are, you are safe. Please Lord take care of my love, please! Tears had no limit they kept flowing out, because this Preet really missed his Ayu! Yes my Ayu, My Ayush! I'll leave for office tomorrow, but to search him. I'm sorry Mom, I'm lying to you.

Soon I fell asleep and waited for tomorrow to come. I had a big day because I was going in search of Ayushmann, my love, after 2 long years. Bless me lord! Take care of him!
