I woke up jumping with the ringing of my cell phone, I growled against the pillow as my hand reached for my cell phone on my nightstand, I turned slowly in my bed as I opened my eyes in front of the screen trying to get my eyes to focus in the name of the dreamdisturber, the screen flashed with Ana's name. No surprise there. 

"I hope it is important, it is 7:50 in the morning, on a freaking Sunday!!!" I growled, as I rubbed my eyes with my free hand.

"I'M ENGAGED!" Ana yelled waking me up once and for all. We started screaming with happiness, as I tapped my feet against my mattress with excitement.

"Congratulations sweetie! I am so happy for you and Andrew, I want every detail!" I said sitting up in bed getting ready to listen to the whole story.

"And I'm going to tell you everything, but I have to make a small change to our plans" I rolled my eyes, she woke me up, and she won't he tell me what I want to know right now? "I need you to get your butt off the bed, take a shower and get ready, I will pick you up in about 40 minutes for breakfast with Andrew and his sister" she said without stopping to take a breath.

"Please, Emma, ​​this is the first time that I am going to meet Alex and I want you to be there for moral support, besides you already know her" she said almost pleading.

"Okay, fine, but you owe me brunch," I said as I hung up and got up to get ready.

8:33 Ana: "I'm downstairs, hurry up." It had taken me almost nothing to get ready, I decided again to let my hair down, put on some jeans, black converses, a fuchsia sleeveless top and a gray cardigan. I grabbed my keys, my bag and went out.

Ana was waiting for me in her black beetle Volkswagen and from a distance, I could see her huge smile, as soon as I got into the car, she hugged me, I did the same and gave her a big kiss on the cheek.

"Let me see that ring!" I said excitedly as I tugged her hand so I could get a closer look at it. "Wow, Andy did a very good job!" I said looking my friend back in the eye. Ana had a huge smile on her face.

On our way to the restaurant, Ana told me everything, how they had dinner by candlelight in a super luxurious restaurant, how Andrew had later suggested taking a walk on the seashore and how he finally knelt in front of her and popped the question. It was indescribable what it felt to see my friend so happy, at one point in the story, when she was telling me exactly what Andrew had said before asking her the question, her eyes filled with tears and at that moment I realized the lump in my throat. We had been through so much together since we met in the early days of university, I couldn't believe that my best friend was about to marry the love of her life and that I was here at her side to celebrate.

When we got to the restaurant, we had to touch up our makeup before getting out of the car. In the parking lot, I recognized Alex's white Equinox and felt my heart did a somersault.

"Andrew Dominguez's table," Ana said to the hostess at the entrance.

"This way please, they are waiting for you" said the hostess asking us to follow her.

Andrew and Alex were sitting at a round table for 4 people. Andrew saw us first and got up to kiss and hug his wife-to-be, while Alex looked me straight in the eye, until Andrew broke the staring contest that we were immersed in.

"Ana, this is Alex my sister" Alex got up from the table, walked over to Ana, and gave her a hug, congratulating her on the good news. "And Emma ... I know you already know her" he said the last part with a wink to his sister, although it was very subtle, I did notice.

Alex approached me and gave me a hug "Emma" she whispered against my ear, causing a tickle in my spine. "Hello," I said as I separated and sat in the chair between Ana and Alex, hiding my face behind the menu to prevent Ana from noticing the blush on my cheeks.
