The clock showed 18:55 when Jordan called to indicate that he was waiting downstairs, always sharp as a clock, that's good, right?

"Hello, my love!" Jordan said leaning to give me a kiss when I got in his Jeep Compass, I immediately wrapped myself in his scent of expensive perfume and mint.

"Hi, how are you?" I told him as I ran my hand through his 2-day beard that I liked so much. Jordan and I were the same age, we had been born in July of the same year with a few days of difference and perhaps that is why we were so similar which in turn ironically distanced us a little, we were both extremely dedicated to our work, perhaps one of the few differences and the biggest is that he was an early bird.

Our conversation on the way to the restaurant was the same as always, we always talked about the same things, work, Ana and Andrew, Joaquin his best friend and his latest conquest, and from time to time we talked about our future. He has never proposed to me, but nevertheless we always talk as if it was obvious that we were going there and there was no reason to doubt that our destiny was to get married, have children, retire and die, like normal people.

When we arrived at the Bistro, the same one we have been visiting for the last 3 years, it was part of our little routine, why change it? We sat at our favorite table, ordered two glasses of red wine and the usual on the menu.

"Thanks for reminding me about the gift for Dome, I don't know what I'd do without you." There's the PA feeling again, I thought as I smiled across the table at him.

Jordan was handsome without a doubt, his light brown hair that didn't require any hair products to look like he was going to be on a photoshoot, his features were almost perfect accompanied by his kind honey-colored eyes. He had broad shoulders and a beautiful pair of legs... that for me were his best attribute, thanks to the many years of playing soccer in his spare time. When I was with him, I felt safe and... stable.

"What's up, baby? You seem kind of off today" I couldn't help but shiver a little when I heard the nickname.

"Jord, please don't call me baby, I don't like those nicknames" I said for the thousandth time, trying not to sound annoyed so as not to tarnish the night so early. He just smiled and raised his hands in regret as he devoured the newly arrived plate. "I'm ok" I said.

"Ok, love, whatever you say. Tomorrow after work we are going to play a soccer game with the boys, Andrew organized it, apparently he has something to tell us"

"Andrew? I didn't know he was part of your soccer team" I couldn't imagine Andrew playing soccer, he was more of a hipster guy who preferred not to sweat. Maybe Ana is behind all this to unite our group a little more, I thought, hopefully.

"He isn't, he has been in a couple of practices, and he is a friend of everybody, so he wants to join us."

After dinner, we head to buy the Dome's gift, how hard can it be to buy a gift for a 5-year-old girl? We decided on a little dress that I fell in love with, it was turquoise on the top with the face of a unicorn and a purple tutu with a fuchsia skirt, it was adorable.

"Baby...loooove, do you want me to stay with you tonight? Tomorrow my first meeting is at 9:00, so we can have breakfast together at the hotel" Jordan said showing off his white smile.

"Ok, perfect"

7:00 AM and the sound of the alarm again announcing one more day, cuddled next to Jordan I felt safe, like in the shade of a large oak tree that smelled of Hugo Boss and Mint shampoo.

"Jord, you can sleep a little more, I'll wake you up when I get out of the shower," I whispered as I tried to get up, my attempt was sabotaged when Jordan grabbed my wrist again, throwing me to the bed next to him. "No, I want to shower with you" a malicious smile on his lips. I couldn't help giggling as a spoiled child while thinking everything is fine Emma, your life is fine, you're not a robot, robots don't have sex in the shower because they would rust.

On our way to the hotel, this morning felt different, more joyous, it must be the effect that a morning orgasm has on one's life.

After breakfast, and after Jordan made his way to his office, while talking to one of the supervisors, my phone vibrated announcing a text message from Andrew himself.

"Hey, can we have lunch together today? Ana doesn't know anything, please don't tell her" Mmm, I couldn't help worrying, what was going on?

"Okkkk, everything okay?"

"Yeah, don't worry, it's a good thing, lunch at the Sutton at noon?" I sighed in relief, at least it's not a bad thing.

"Yes! That's perfect because I didn't bring my car today"

I only had to wait 1 hour and 22 minutes to know what was going on with Andrew.

It was 12:10, and we were already sitting at one of the hotel restaurant's table with our drinks and waiting for what we had ordered for lunch.

"And how have you been, Emma?" His tone was nervous and while he waited for my answer he played with his hands, his black eyes looked everywhere except me, I have never seen Andrew that nervous before, which increased my nerves.

"Andrew, I don't want to sound like a bitch, but please skip the intro, what is going on?" my frankness finally brought his eyes to mine, outlining an amused smile.

"Well, straight to the point! I don't want to sound old-fashioned or anything, but I want to ask for your blessing to ask Ana to marry me" Boom! I asked him to skip the intro and he went straight to the point, little by little my surprised face changed to one of happiness.

I got up and he too, I gave him a big hug as I tried not to let the tears I had in my eyes spill.

"Andrew, I'm so happy and honored! Really, thanks for telling me first and for asking for my blessing, even though you know you earned my approval a long time ago. How about Ana's parents, are you going to ask for their blessing too?" I said, perhaps speaking way too quickly and ventilating my eyes to dry the tears before my makeup was ruined.

"Hmm, no, I'm not that old-fashioned, I think you are more important in Ana's life than her own parents" her eyes struggling just like mine to keep his cheeks dry.

"When you are going to propose to her? How is it going to be? OMG, I want to know every detail" I said, thinking that our lunch was not going to be long enough to talk about it.

"My sister is helping me plan everything, she is super excited too, she has never met Ana, but with what I have told her it is enough for her to adore her" I have never met Andrew's sister either, from what I have heard she is only a few years older than us and lives in the UK, but I don't know more about her. "In fact, I also wanted to ask you to help me with a reservation for her to stay here, until we find an apartment for her"

"Of course! So your sister is moving back here indefinitely?"

"Yes! Unfortunately, she broke up with her girlfriend a few months ago, and she wants a change of scenery, she has some interviews scheduled for some magazines, she is a photographer, so I don't think she will have a problem finding something fast" girlfriend? hmm, interesting.

"Perfect, when is she arriving?" I said, taking out my cell phone from the blazer to do the reservation right away.

"Today, in fact, I'm on my way to pick her up from the airport, her name is Alex Dominguez" he said as he got up, giving me a hug and saying goodbye.

"Alex Dominguez" I said out loud as I entered the reservation in the system, pronouncing her name for the first time without even understanding what that name was going to mean in my life...
