"How is it not a big deal?" I asked after we were back at the studio.

"Look, I'm not gonna try to explain the female mind, because I don't even understand it." Noah said shrugging.

"Maybe I should just text her." I said grabbing my phone

"She's at school." He reminded me.

"What time does she get out?" I asked, pacing around the room.

"I don't know. What time does she usually get here for night practices?" He asked in a 'duh' voice.

"Practices start at 5:30." I replied, dumbly.

"So talk to her when she gets here. Right now, I gotta go. I'll see you later, Max." Noah said getting up and walking out the door. I sit down at the piano, thinking of playing.

"Guess who." A deep voice, obviously fake said, as hands covered my eyes. Immediately I looked at the palms, but these palms have calluses, which is odd, because from what I can tell, the person behind me is..

"Colette." I guessed smiling

"Ding ding ding! We have a winner!" She says stepping beside me and sitting down on the bench.

"Let me see your hands." I say, grabbing one of her hands.

"I know, I dont have girlie hands." Colette laughs quietly. A joyful sound, nice, sweet, like honey.

"I like them." I say turning her hand over and kissing the back of it.

"Can I have my hand back now?" She asks, obviously blushing.

"Only if you'll scoot closer. Your freezing." I say letting go of her hand and pulling her closer to me.

"I am not." She says, pouting.

"You are too. Your fingers are like ice cubes." I say taking her hands in mine and trying to warm them up.

"It's cold outside, what do you expect?" She asks leaning her head on my shoulder.

"For you to be dressed warmly." I reply and immediately she sits back up.

"I don't need you worrying about me." She says scooting away and standing up.

"Come here, Colette." I said opening my arms. She made no move to step closer.

"Look, we need to talk." She says and I cringe.

"Okay." I reply quietly.

"Max, I really like you-"

"I really like you too, Colette."

"You didn't let me finish. I like you and all, but I can't date you." She says, tears flooding her eyes. I know this isn't what she wants to say.

"Why not?" I ask, frozed in place, shocked.

"I can't deal with the spotlight I'll have if I become your girlfriend." She says and I shake my head.

"Your worried about the attention? Your strong, you'll get through it." I say but she shakes her head.

"No, it's not that. I don't do attention well. After I got to school, I was called on to read something out loud, and I had an anxiety attack because everyone was staring at me. I don't like attention." She sayso so I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her from behind, setting my chin on her shoulder.

"We can keep it a secret." I suggest, immediately knowing she'll say no.

"I want my boyfriend to be able to go outside and walk down the street, holding my hand, without fans mobbing us." She says and I sigh.
