Two excruciating months had passed. Marketa, Al and I all made the team. Unfortunately for every girl in the team so did Naomi. Training camp had been an emotional rollercoaster, girls were cut each week which made us all nervous and constantly stressed. The amount of pressure we were under was insane leading to a few breakdowns along the way.

Now, we had one week before the first game and practice was becoming harder by the day. I had thought things would loosen up after we made the team and become easier once we knew most of the dances but no, not at all. Coach Jenkins was relentless, being more nit-picky than ever before. 'Twist further', 'You're half a count behind', 'Get it together girls! This is not a circus.'. We had heard these so many times that coach's voice started making random appearances in my dreams.

Not to mention the constant jabs Naomi was throwing my way when no one was watching. Even after we both made the team she was still trying to put me down. I didn't know what I'd ever done to her but she was dead set on making my life miserable, not that she had succeeded so far.

Let's just say I didn't sleep very well last night, which really wasn't ideal when I started my first day at Johnson & Co today. I had been going to quite a few interviews and received a call two days ago for an assistant position for the Regional Director of the company.

I needed to be at the top of my form if I wanted to perform well. I knew I was a fast learner I had always had that luck, but this was my first job and I wanted to do well as soon as I arrived.

I got dressed in a black pencil skirt and a light pink blouse. Appropriate and classy, just how I liked it. I didn't know if I would need to walk too much so I opted for my lower heels just as a precaution.

I drove my car into the parking garage and let myself up with the access card I had received from HR. I wish I had someone to shadow today, but I was told the previous assistant quit suddenly, which didn't exactly make me feel much better.

I stepped onto the twenty-third floor, opening my laptop and setting up my desk. I then went to the coffee machine to get a cup of coffee for my new boss. Two creams, two sugars the HR lady had told me. I walked back to the office just in time to fall into step with my new boss.

"Good morning Ms. Lang, here is your coffee," I said with a smile. My new boss halted before looking at me from head to toe before taking the coffee from my outstretched hand.

"Who are you?" she asked an eyebrow raised.

"Kathanya Belova, I'm your new assistant," I introduced, putting my hand forward for her to shake. She didn't bother and kept walking. I dropped my arm quickly and followed her.

"Don't wear kitty heels again if you want to keep this job," she warned without a single glance at me before entering her office, leaving me stunned in front of the now-closed door.

What did I just get myself into? See you should have just stayed at the café with the girls, you wouldn't have to deal with this bullshit.

I went back to my desk to have a look at something to do. I had barely sat down that my name was called. I stood up immediately, walking into the devil's office.

"Yes?" I asked.

"The schedule," she commanded looking at me expectantly. I swiftly grabbed onto the tablet I had prepared earlier; thank god I had prepared.

"You have a meeting with Mr. Lopez at nine-thirty, then some free time until your lunch at one with Selena followed by three back-to-back internal meetings with the head of logistics, the head of sales and the head of IT," I explained while reading the names on the schedule.
