Morning kisses

Elphaba couldn't believe what she had just heard. Galinda was in love with her? She was even more surprised of what the blonde did next. When she felt Galinda's soft lips on her own, her first instinct was to respond to the kiss, like she had done the first time they kissed, but that hadn't gone well, so this time, she pulled away reluctantly. "Galinda, we can't do this, you don't love me" The blonde looked at her smiling brightly. "Yes, I do. Didn't you hear what I just said?" Elphaba smiled sadly. "But you can't, why would you ever love me?" Galinda looked her in the eyes lovingly and stroked a green cheek with the back of her hand. "Because you are amazing, smart, caring, passionate and beautiful" said Galinda with a smile on her face. "Oh, I'm not beautiful" said Elphaba sadly. "Of course you are, you silly thing. You are my Elphie and no matter what you say or think, I have fallen completely and utterly in love with you, now the sooner you accept that, the sooner we can go back to kissing, and I really do, enjoy that part" she said smiling mischievously. But then her expression morphed and she looked at the green girl sadly. "Unless of course, you don't feel the same way" she looked down sadly, so Elphaba raised her chin to make her look at her in the eyes and said. "I do my sweet, I really do, but last time we kissed it didn't go well, it was pretty obvious that you didn't feel this way then" The smaller girl smiled again. "I know, and I'm sorry but I didn't realize how I felt for you then, it took me more than it should have to realize how amazing you are, but do you want to know why I kissed you? I kissed you because even if I didn't know I loved you then, it somehow felt right, I just couldn't help myself, and then, from that moment, I just knew" This time, it was Elphaba who pulled Galinda against her and pressed their lips together. The kiss quickly escalated until they had to break apart to breath. "I love you Elphie" said Galinda breathlessly, with her arms still around the green girl's neck. "And I love you, my sweet"

They sat by the tree for a long time, talking about their new discoveries and . . . . . . doing other productive activities, until it started to get dark. Then, the two roommates returned to their bedroom and currently, Elphaba was sitting on her bed, reading a book while Galinda rested her head on Elphaba's lap as she stroked her hair.

Suddenly Elphaba closed her book and stopped caressing Galinda's hair. "So, what are we going to do now?" Galinda sat next to her and looked at her with a puzzled look in her face. "What do you mean?" She said. "I mean, are we going to tell everybody? Because I don't think that is a good idea" said Elphaba "Are you embarrassed of being with me?" Said the blonde looking as if she was about to cry. "Of course not my sweet, I only think that keeping it a secret would be a better idea, because I know for a fact, that if you say that you are in a relationship with me, they won't leave you alone" Galinda looked at her mischievously. "Oh? So am I in a relationship with you miss Elphaba?" She said grinning. "I guess so, I mean if you want to. Do you want to?" She said nervously. "Haven't I made myself clear?" Then she kissed the green girl again, softly
at first but it quickly turned more passionate until they were both out of air and had to pull away. "Okay. . . . Yeah, you . . . .okay, I'll take that as a yes" mumbled Elphaba. "So what were you saying Elphie?" Elphaba recovered herself and said. "Oh, right, I think it's best if we don't tell anyone right now, not even our friends, okay?" Galinda looked at her nervously. "Yeah. . . . . .there might be a problem with that" she said almost in a whisper. "What do you mean?" Galinda took a deep breath. "I might have told Fiyero" "Why would you do that?" Said Elphaba angrily. Galinda looked at her worriedly and sighed. "Hey, I know you hate Fiyero but you shouldn't judge him that much, you have no idea how supportive he has been, he helped me a lot" Elphaba looked at her skeptically. "With what exactly?" She said. "Well, yesterday, when you saw us in the bench, I did break up with him but we also talked, when I said I was In love with someone else, he guessed it was you and was really accepting about that, then he even helped me plan how to tell you how I feel" Elphaba was truly surprised, she had underestimated Fiyero, maybe he wasn't as shallow and self absorbed as she originally thought. "I'm sorry my sweet, I didn't know, I guess I really hated him just because of the fact that you loved him and not me, and I never really bothered to get to know him" she said apologetically. "It's okay and anyways, now you have nothing to be jealous about" she said grinning and getting closer to her. "I guess I don't" said Elphaba and kissed Galinda.

The next morning Elphaba woke up to find blonde curls next to her again, but this time, she remembered everything and started grinning like an idiot, thinking of yesterday's events. Suddenly she felt the body next to her begin to stir and finally turn around to face her. When the smaller girl saw her, her face lightened. "Good morning beautiful" she said sleepily "it is a very good morning indeed" Said Elphaba and leaned forward to kiss Galinda, only giving her a small peck on the lips this time. Then she spoke again. "I really like being able to do that, you know? Instead of daydreaming about it the whole day" As she finished saying that her face turned a darker shade of green with embarrassment of what she had just revealed. Galinda giggled. "You daydreamed about kissing me?" She said. "Ummm. . . . . maybe?" Galinda was still giggling. "Hey! It isn't funny, it was really depressing" Galinda unsuccessfully tried to stop laughing and put on a serious face. "I'm sorry it's just that, I can't imagine you fantasizing about kissing me, in the middle of Dr Dillamonds class" she said and just burst out laughing. "Oh just stop! Leave me alone!" Answered Elphaba playfully. But Galinda didn't stop laughing. "Alright! That is enough! I'm going to take a shower" she said standing up and picking some clothes from her closet. "No, Elphie wait!" Said Galinda, but it was too late, Elphaba had already closed the bathroom door.

After Elphaba got out of the bathroom, Galinda did her morning ritual. Then, when they were both ready Elphaba sat on Galinda's bed and said. "So, the agreement is that we won't tell anyone we are together, right?" Galinda rolled her eyes and answered. "If we must" she said. "Hey, I don't like it either, I've wanted this for a very long time, and knowing that, now it has finally happened, I have to hide it, feels awful, but we both now it's for the best" she said with a sad smile. Then Galinda walked toward her. "Fine. But just one more for the road" with those words she pressed her lips against Elphaba's passionately and stroked her long dark hair. When they parted, Elphaba looked dazzled. "Have a nice day Miss Elphaba" she said as she walked out of the room, giving an extra sway to her hips as she walked away and left Elphaba alone in their room to recover from the kiss.
