Misunderstandings and acceptance

A/N: I really hope you are liking this! Comment if you have any suggestions. And I just wanted to say that this Fiyero is a good person because in almost every Gelphie fanfic, he is an evil bastard who hits Galinda or is a terrible boyfriend and I obviously don't ship him with Elphie or Galinda, but I don't see why he can't be a nice guy for once. I hope you like it!

When Elphaba returned to the room she noticed three things. Number one, her roommate wasn't there anymore, number two, she had read her note and left it at her desk, number three, Galinda's history book was still there too. Oh! Why couldn't she pay more attention! Sometimes she could be so infuriating. Elphaba took the book and put it in her bag, now she had to run around all campus looking for Galinda, the smaller girl could not fail that test, they had studied so hard for it! So Elphaba gathered her things and stormed outside the room. She went to the cafeteria, to the library, she even went to the classroom to see if she had arrived early. But she wasn't in any of those places, so finally, she looked outside, in the gardens. She he walked around a little bit until she saw her. She was sitting in a bench, all over Fiyero. Elphaba couldn't have been angrier. She had left her history book and got late to class, just to be with him? Unbelievable! Of course, half the reason why she was so angry was that she felt how every single cell on her body was jealous, she couldn't understand what she saw in him.

Suddenly Fiyero's head started to turn towards her so she quickly hid behind a tree, she was too scared to come outside, so she waited there until they both had left, but just as they were leaving, she got to hear Galinda say. "Thank you so much, I love you Fiyero" Of course Elphaba didn't know that her roommate was thanking Fiyero, on the help he had given on how to approach her, and she also ignored that in that bench Galinda had just left Fiyero.

She waited a few minutes after they had left and followed them to Dr Dillamond's classroom. To make things even better, inside the classroom, as the exam hadn't started yet, Galinda was chatting with her lovely friends, Pfannee and Shenshen. She grudgingly approached them and gave the book to her friend. "Oh Elphie! Thank you so much, I completely forgot, you saved my life!" Galinda's friends looked at her mockingly. "Yes well, maybe you wouldn't have forgotten if you hadn't been making out with someone in the gardens" Galinda looked at her with confusion, wondering why she was acting like this. "Oh yes, I saw you too, you couldn't keep your hands of him just for today could you? Not even for the exam" "Elphie you don't understand, we were not making out! We were. . . . " Elphaba was aware that she was being really exaggerated but she just hated the fact that Galinda chose Fiyero over her, every single time! "I think I understand perfectly" she finally said before storming out of the room, she would have stayed for the exam but she had didn't have it on that class, her schedule was different, she had it in about two hours so she ran to her room and waited until her first class.

Galinda spent the whole exam thinking about Elphaba. Why had she acted like that? She had acted like she would act at the beginning of the year when they loathed each other, but Galinda thought she had changed, there must have been something. Then a thought crossed her mind, Elphaba had seemed furious that the reason why she had forgotten her book had been Fiyero, maybe she was jealous. She had to finish the exam quickly and explain everything to her, she had to know why she had been with Fiyero. The exam felt really easy, she had studied for it with her roommate for the past two weeks, so she had no problem on finishing it quickly, she stood up and put it on Dr Dillamond's desk.

While she was walking towards her room she felt someone take her by the shoulder and turn her around. "What? . . . . " She started to say, but then realized it was Fiyero. "What are you doing?" she said trying to get away, but he just grabbed her more firmly. "You have to give her space Lynn" Galinda kept fidgeting with him. "But she, she thinks we were kissing! I have to tell her" "I know, I heard. In fact, I think everyone did and my opinion is that you should let her be, you know how she is, if you go now she will still be angry and you will accomplish nothing. Stay away from her just for today, and then tonight talk to her" She stopped fighting and looked at him with bright blue eyes. "I'm so glad you are my friend" she said and then hugged him. He smiled "I'm glad we are friends too".

The two girls spent the rest of the day avoiding each other and finally, that night Galinda went to their room. "Elphie?" Elphaba was sitting on her bed trying to calm down when she heard a voice and turned her head. "I just wanted to tell you, that, I passed the test, and I wanted to thank you for helping me study" Elphaba seemed happy for her for a second and then remembered she was angry at the blonde. "Oh, you did?, and why aren't you celebrating with your tongue down your precious little boyfriend's throat?" Galinda smiled. "Because I don't have one Elphie" she said gently and Elphabas's jaw dropped "What do you mean?" Galinda closed the door and walked towards Elphaba. "Yes, you were so angry, you didn't let me finish telling you what I was doing with Fiyero" "Oh I'm sorry, did you want to give me more details? because I really don't want to hear them" "I was breaking up with him" Elphaba was silent."I'm so sorry, if I had known he had broken up with you, I wouldn't . . . . " Galinda interrupted her. "He didn't, I broke up with him" Elphabas's eyes widened. "And why would you do that?" Galinda closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and smiling sadly "I did it because I'm in love with someone else" Elphaba had expected her to kiss her passionately and say it was because she never loved Fiyero and it was always her, but of course, that didn't happen, she was in love with someone else, it was always someone else. "Oh, I see. Who is it?" The blonde was going to tell her, she really was, but she just couldn't. "I can't tell you" Elphaba looked at her with confusion. "Why not? You know you can tell me anything my sweet" Galinda looked at her in the verge of tears and said. "Not this, you would never see me the same way" Elphaba, sensing her friend was about to cry hugged her tightly. "You know I love you, no matter what" Galinda started sobbing softly against Elphaba. "It's a woman" Elphaba pulled away from her, shocked, Had she just said she was in love with a woman? Maybe she had a shot with her after all. "I told you that you would never see me the same way" Galinda was crushed, now she would never have a chance with her, and maybe even loose her as a friend. She had seen the repulsion in her eyes. "No, no, no don't say that I'm just . . . . . Surprised" 'And deliriously happy' she added in her head. "But I meant what I said before, I love you, no matter what" Galinda didn't stop crying, but now she was crying of happiness that Elphaba really didn't care. "Really Elphie?" Elphaba smiled "Of course. And now we both need to rest, it has been a long day for both of us" They both slipped into their night clothes and went to their beds but as the tiny blonde was getting into her bed she heard the green girl say. "Wait, would you want to, umm, maybe. . . . " And then she pointed to her bed. Galinda swallowed, was she suggesting that they both slept in Elphabas's bed? "O. . Of course" Elphaba smiled and said "I mean, just for tonight" Then Galinda walked to her bed and they both laid down and covered themselves with the blankets. But Galinda wasn't comfortable, so she got out of bed and said "Wait" She walked to her bed and pulled the light pink bedspread (which still had a red nail polish stain) and brought it to her friends bed and then put it over Elphabas's grey one that was very thin for her taste. "Are you serious?" Said Elphaba and then chuckled "Extremely, now move, make me some room would you?" They both cuddled for the rest of the night and slept well for the first time in weeks.
