Her first

Chapter 1

My six o'clock alarm rings waking me up immediately, I turn it off and do my morning routine of workouts. Feeling hot and sweaty I head for my bathroom and take a shower. I put on my usual attire of a white vest and sweat pants as I admire myself in the mirror. Grabbing my phone off my bed I check to find.

"No new messages, great"

I send one to her instead.

"Hey Sophie, I know schools keeping you busy. Study hard for the both of us. I miss you"

I put my phone in my pocket and head down stairs. I find my both Sarah and Lilly sited I the living room.

"Morning"

I greet them heading for the kitchen.

"Hey Eli, Richard called and said he'll be here in an hour"

Lilly responds as she changes the tv channels.

"Alright, I need help with the remaining boxes, morning Mom".

I greet her as she walks into the kitchen.

"Morning, you're really set on moving huh"
"I already finished furnishing the house mom so i preety much moved 4 days ago"

I respond to her as I put cereal on my plate.

"You're becoming your own man now"
"That I am now stop looking so down or I won't be able to leave today"

I put a hand over her shoulder.

"Keep looking sad mom its the only way he'll stay"

Sarah shouts as from the living room.

"Who's side are you on anyway?"
"The side that wants you to stay" 

She responds facing back to the tv.

"You'll make me want to be visiting every day"
"Like that's a bad thing"

My mom responds finishing the last of her breakfast, we laugh about it. After finishing up the last of my breakfast i hear a car horn outside.

"Looks like he's here".

Richard and I put the last of my boxes in my car, we say our goodbyes and drive off to my new apartment. As we begin to move the boxes from my car Richard says to me.

"Woah, dude look at the girl"

I look at a beautiful girl across from my house. She's sited on a lawn reading a book.

"Wow, she's--"
"Hot right"

He finishes my sentence and hits my side with his elbow.

"I didn't mean it like that, she's nice".

She catches me looking, feeling embarrassed I turn really quick but bump into Richard dropping my box, I look at her smiling, she smiles back and continues reading her book.

"Let's just take these things inside"

I say to Richard, we finish taking the last of the boxes and relax for a while, at around 6pm I walk outside to call Sophie but she doesn't answer, I call her a few more times but she still doesn't pick up.

"This has become frustrating" I say to myself. I look across the street and see the cute girl from before hugging a grown man.

"It's probably her father" i say to myself.

I look at the car he gets into. Its a police cruiser, woah.

We lock eyes again as she heads inside her house. Something inside of me pushes me across the street to her house. Feeling nervous i knock on the door a few time and a few seconds later she comes out, she's even cuter up close.

"Hey"
"Hey"  she responds with a sweet sounding voice.

"I uhh.. wanted to come introduce myself I'm Elijah"

I put out my hand, after a moment's hesitation she shakes it.

"I'm Emily, it's nice to meet you"
"Cool"

Nothing else comes to my mind.

"So goodnight I guess"
"Goodnight"

I walk away heart racing, my hands shaking I can't explain this feeling. I get back to my house. Richard begins to tease me upon entering.

"When are you getting married?, I hope I'll be your best man, have you already confessed your love"
"Come on man, stop it"

I respond putting my phone on the coffee table.

"All I said, was hi and goodnight"
"Nothing else, that isn't the Eli I know what happened to you?"

"I don't know"

I respond putting my hands behind my neck.

"I just, froze"

He laughs at me but I ignore him never thinking about anything else besides her cute smile. The next day I wake up, do my usual work outs and head to the kitchen for breakfast, through the window I can see her dad getting back home and her hugging him like she never wants to let go.

"Richard, we need milk"
"I thought you bought some!!" He shouts from his room.

"I'll go get some by the store I'll be back soon"
"Take your time"

I head out and decide to walk. Once at the store I get my milk and begin to walk back when I see her coming my way.

"Say something, anything"

I think to myself, as she gets closer and closer the words finally escape my mouth.

"Hey Emily"

She looks at me with a welcoming beautiful smile that kept me up for hours last night.

"Hey"

She responds.

"How are you?"
"I'm alright, you?"

"I'm good, so where you headed?"

I ask her, she immediately responds.

"I'm headed to the library to pick up a new book I want to read"
"Fan of reading?"
"A lot yes, you aren't?

Not really but i am now.

"I am actually".
"Oh really, what's your favorite book"

"How didn't I see this coming" I think to myself.

"Uh, the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the philosophers stone"
"Really, I love that one I was actually going to pick it up".

A few seconds of silence is broken by me.

"Can I walk you there?"
"Sure"
