Chapter 20

I enter my house and find Sarah and Matt I what seem to be an awkward position. I'll be fast to think and slow to anger.

"What's going on here?"

I ask, folding my arms, Emily pushes Matt away and responds.

"It's not what it looks like Elijah"
"That's why I asked what's going on"
"Matt was just leaving, he can to confess his love to me but he was just leaving"
"really, what did you respond to him after he said he loves you"
"I'm right here guys, you're talking about me like--"
"you shut up, Emily what did you say"
"I told him to leave"
"Then what the hell are you still doing here Matt, she wants you to leave so get the hell out"

He opens his mouth to speak.

"I won't ask again dude, and be warned I'm not In the best of moods today"

Matt looks from me to Emily, she looks away making him walk out with his face held low.

"Elijah I need to"
"Shh, you'll ruin the hug"

She puts my arms around her body, then gives me the tightest hug I've ever felt from her. More and more tears leave her eyes as she lets it all out.

"I'm so sorry Eli, I'm truly sorry"
"I said you're ruining the hug with your crying now shhh"

I pull away and look her deep in the eyes.

"look, I've messed up big time too. I love you so much Emily I never want to let anything or anyone else come between us"
"i feel the same way"
"That is why you opening up has pushed me to do the same"

I pull her to the chair and sit her down.

"i don't know how you're going to feel about this but I have a son"
"Eli this is no time for jokes"

I never remove the serious look from my face.

"oh, you're serious"
"Yes, during the same period when things happened between you and Matt I too had the moment"

" Gladys"
"your workers kid, but he looks nothing like you"
"Her aunt keeps her baby, .my baby home as she works, I've visited them from time to time"

I take her hand expecting her to free herself from my grip but instead she tightens it.

"I know this was a tough decision but I'm glad you made it"
"Again Eli I'm so sorry, I never should have done such a thing I hope you can forgive me"

Hmm, forgiveness, forgiveness what's shall I do.

"you'll have to pay"
"Pay hmm with what?"
"My favorite thing to do when I'm with you"

She kisses my lips softly, passionately. This is amazing this feeling of love I can't explain we sit on my living room chair her in my arms.

A few days later.It's the day of Ciaras surgery, we're all at the hospital wishing her luck and praying for her to make it.

"Good luck in there sis"
"Thank you, this wouldn't have been possible without you. I'm going to recover from this for you. My baby and.... "

She's looking around until her eyes rest on a man walking our way.

"Something you want to tell us Ciara"
"This is Darren, my boyfriend"

Woah, this guy must love her. Even though she had cancer he's still with her.

"Nice to meet you all"
"How come you never told us about him sweetie"

My grandmother asks Ciara.

"don't pinch my cheeks grandma"
"I wouldn't be wrong now would I"

Ciara takes his hand and puts out her other.

"this is Darren, he's a nurse here and if I survive this surgery"

How are we seriously just noticing the wedding ring now.

"We will get married"
"That's amazing, congratulations to you both"

I pull both of them im for a huge hug.

"I've been waiting for --"
"Ahh"

The baby's coming.

"Emily, what is it?"
"Are you kidding me?"

I look from her to my sisters for help

"Emily, talk to me. Breathe, breathe"

She takes deep breaths to the sound off Lilly's voice.

"Ahh, contractions, the baby is coming we need to get her in the delivery ward asap"
"Alright"

I immediately flag down a doctor.

"Hello doctor we're going to need your help my fiancee's in labour we need help"
"Sure thing sir, this way"
"Eli, will you come with me?. I want you by my side"
"Of course my love"

I take her hand and give it a gentle squeeze, in the delivery room.

"You're doing great my love"

Emily lets out screams of pain squeezing my hand.

"She's nearly here, one more push"

After an intense delivery Emily finally manages to give birth to Ciara's baby girl.

"You did it my love"
"I was so scared but I did, didn't I"
"Yah, your strength knows no limits my love I mean my hand still hurts"

She brings to her lips and gives it a kiss.

"All better?"
"When you put it that way my lips hurt too I have been talking a lot today"
"Would you kiss what hurts on my body right now"
"Wh---, wha---......I"
"I'm kidding, just my lips"

She kissed me then winks and says.

"For now"

After Emily and the little girl are cleaned up we're sited in her room holding the baby in my arms.

"So when should we continue the plans for our wedding?"
"I even forgot about that"

"Just kidding, don't be so scared"
"As long as you don't say anything like that again"
"She got you didn't she?"
"Yeah, she did"

As we're laughing The doctor brings Ciara in on a wheelchair.

"Hey guys, it isn't a full family without me"
"Or me, did you forget about someone"
"Daddy"

Emily's father gives her a hug before shaking my hand.

"Hello Mr Hart, how are you"
"I'm alright son, I'm sorry I couldn't arrive sooner but work has gotten me so stressed"
"You know I was telling Emily about flying my family out on a holiday that does include you"
"It'd be my pleasure, I know my girl would kill me if I said no because of work"

Ciara looks so beautiful holding her baby, smiles around the family as everyone talks about vacation places to visit. Emily puts out her hand for me to take.

"I'm so happy right now"
"Me too, I needed this"
"You mean a surprise vacation that you've just come up with"
"Exactly, after that we can plan our wedding we need to relax for a while esspecialy you"
"Thank you so much, now give me a kiss"
