Chapter 12

After picking up Sarah from the hospital I take her to my family house where everyone else is waiting.

"Ready"
"Do I look ready to you"

I take her hand and walk her inside the house, my mother is the first to greet her with an immediate hug.

"Mom I'm sorry for"
"Shhhhh"

After the rest of the family greets her I begin to walk out.

"Eli wait"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you, for everything"
"You're welcome sis, you're family so don't forget to come to me for anything you need"
"I will don't worry about it"

As i walk out of the room my phone rings.

"Yes Dr Valentine"
"Hello Mr Johnson, would you mind coming to the hospital"
"Alright, give me 30 minutes"

I quickly drive the hospital.

"Thank you for coming Mr Johnson"
"I had no choice you sounded serious"
"I am, I have been preparing the necessary procedure for Mss Johnson we have to continue her chemotherapy treatment"
"What ever must be done do it doctor"
"Yes, uhh.... Your sisters growing child needs a new body to develop"

Wait what did he just say.

"Excuse me"
"I said you---"
"No I heard you perfectly fine Dr Valentine I just.. I'm trying to understand this whole thing"
"Your sister is still in the first trimester of pregnancy, a few days infact so it'd be safe to administer treatment without the fetus in her because the drugs will be toxic to it"
"When do we need"
"The sooner the better Mr Johnson, if you want to continue her treatment"

Immediately after leaving the hospital I begin to think about who to ask amongst my sisters.

"Sofia will be moving to Paris for her business in two days, I don't think Ciara would want her baby to be so far from us"

"Lilly was open enough to tell me that she can't give birth to her future kids I don't think she'd want a head start on the C-section"

"Sarah, she's been through a lot and needs to recover before putting her through this stress off having a baby I doubt if she'd be up to it"

I need to ask someone who would be the best caring person and ---.

"Hello Mr Hart I need to talk you"
"I'm working son, what do you want?"

I relay the story to him. Telling him everything and how I'm going to need her help.

"My daughter is old enough to make her own decisions I closed the chapter on telling her what to do. I know my daughter loves you and would do as much for you. She'd be pis***d at me if I even said no"

I put out my hand for him to shake.

"Thank you so much Mr Hart I really appreciate this"

He takes it.

"Don't make me regret trusting you again"

With excitement i drive back home and tell Emily what's going on she worries me with the look on her face.

"What is it my love I thought you'd be excited"
"I am it's just so sudden, I really am"

I raise an eyebrow skeptically.

"I am honey, I am my father said yes I thought we'd have to go through a lot to convince him"
"I know, it took a lot of courage to do this"
"It must be important and that's why I love you so much you're very helpful"

I hold her waist pulling her close to me.

"Only because I'm helpful"
"Oof"

She pecks my lips.

"And you're smart.

Another peck.

"You're cute"

Another peck.

"And, you're a loving, sweet, kind and honest boyfriend"

A few days later the artificial incemination is done.

"So how do you feel"
"I think it's too soon to notice any change but I will feel something soon"
"Alright, I'm just anxious feeling as though it's my baby"
"We will have our own when the time comes"
"I know"

A few weeks later after Richards wedding he moved out, I'm staying with Emily I my house.

"Yep, I'm definitely feeling the morning sickness"
"I hope that goes soon"
"Are you kidding"

She lets out a deep chuckle.

"What do you know about pregnancy love"
"Enough"

She barfs into the toilet again.

"Oh my, we're going to need one hell of a breakfast after this"

A few more weeks later.

"My love I'm hungry again"
"Really what do you want this time"
"Fish, fried not too much thank you".
"That is.....preety specific"
"Just get me my food"
"Alright, alright"

A few months later. I'm in the living room watching TV when Emily comes into the room.

"Pregnancy really suits you,...or maybe you're just getting fat"

"What?"

She screams tossing a pillow at me.

"It was a joke"
"About a pregnant girls weight are you serious"
"Fine, I'm sorry...let me make it up to you"
"I'm listening"

Okay you've got her attention now speak fast, what will you do.

"I actually planned dinner tonight"
"Really?"
"That's about as much as I'm going to tell you it's a surprise"

As soon as I figure out what it is.

"Ohh, thank you so much my love I'll go get ready"

Think, think Eli. It'd be nice to go on a date right. Ohh I pull out my phone and start typing away.

"Sis I need your help"
"What is it I'm busy"

Typical Lilly, busy doing nothing.

"It's important I need you to set up a romantic dinner for two in the back yard garden"
"What's in it for me"

I guess I do owe it to her.

"A shopping trip"
"Quality time with my big bro"
"Yeah, get to it you have 45 minutes"
"What 😡😡 you're lucky a shopping trips on the line"
"Thanks I owe you big time"

A few moments later she gets out of her room looking.

"Woah, you're.... what...buhh"
"What is it?"

Even till this time Emily always finds ways to Leave me speechless. Without trying.

"You look gorgeous my love"
"Thank you, shall we"
"We shall...did I say that out loud"
"Uh huh"

As she walks passed me she kisses my lips.

"I love you"
"How can I not"

As I'm driving to my family house I receive a phone call.

"McKenzie how .... Wait are you crying?"

Emily looks at me worry on her face.

"I'm on my way"
"What's wrong Eli?"
"It's My mother, she went to visit my cousin and they were in accident"
