Chapter 8 : Emily

Sarah and Sophie have just walked in on Elijah and I kissing passionately on his chair.

"What is she doing here?" Sarah asks Elijah looking at me.

"What is she doing here, why are you here and with Sophie?"  Elijah responds to Sarah.

"Sophie wanted to see you, she said it's serious"
"I don't give a damn Sarah she has to leave"

Sensing the mood I the room I stand up. Elijah holds my hand.

"Sit down Emily"
"She's right to want to leave Eli let her"

Elijah struggles to get up so I hold on to him helping him stay up.

"The only one who has to leave I you Sarah for this isn't your house you have no right to say that"
"Eli it's fine I ---"

Elijah looks at me. I keep quiet and let him talk

"Sophie you have barely gotten two words out since you came why don't you tell everyone what you did"

Sophie looks stunned at Sarah.

"I don't have to be embarrassed for wanting you Elijah I've had enough of this"
"No Sophie tell us what secret you were hiding"
"Why should I have to explain myself"

Sophie walks out and Sarah follows her confused. Elijah looks at me. He pulls me close with his good hand.

"Don't let them get you"

He sees my sad face a tear escaping the corner of my eye

"To late"

i hug him tightly. It's a few days and it's my birthday so I invite the whole of Elijahs family. I'm waiting for them to arrive buy my homes drive way. Anxiously waiting I pace back and forth when I finally see them leaving his house. I take a deep breath and relax firstly greeting his mother.

"Good evening Mrs Johnson"
"Hello my dear girl, i was excited to attend your party and it looks like quite the turn out"

She nods at the huge number of party goers both adults and my friends.

"Yes it is, i appreciate you coming"

His grand mother holds my hand.

"Happy birthday my dear, you're now"
"20 years Grandma"

They head in, Sarah just looks at me and says.

"Happy birthday"
"Thank you" i respond a bit relieved that she's talking to me.

As the party progresses smoothly I greet party goers. I see a familiar face in the crowd

"Matt"
"Hey love"

He gives me a hug just as Elijah approaches us looking uneasy. It's maybe about Matt so I pull away.

"I never thought you'd actually make it in time"
"I wouldn't miss your birthday for the world" he responds handing me an expensive gift. From the corner of my eye I can see Eli turn back and heading outside.

"I'll be right back Matt"
"Hey I just got here and you want to leave me alone"
"I'll be right back"

I follow Eli outside and call out to him.

"Hey, where are you going?"
"I'm uhhh, tired my leg feels sore so I want to go apply some hot towels and take some pain killers"

He's hiding something.

"But the party has just started you're going"
"I'm tired Emily, Happy birthday goodnight"

Without saying anything else he heads to his house. Why did he do that now I'm feeling sad. A few more hours into the party I'm in my room taking a shower after Matt spelt his entire drink on me.

Click I hear the door open.

"Who's in my room hello"

I put on a towel and head out of the bathroom only to find Matt.

"Matt"

He looks at me, fully taking in my body, why did my towel have to be so short.

"Hey love, I'm sorry I came in here I was just walking around and sort of just missed this place you know"

I look at him seriously, raising one eyebrow he points to the door.

"I'll leave"

Just as he turns around he bumps into my coffee table, tripping and falling to the ground.

"Ohh my God are you okay?"

I rush to his side.

"Yeah, ahhh I'll be fine"

As he gets up, he winces in pain falling on my bed and pulling me onto him. He held my towel as it fell unwrapping it from my body.

"What's wrong with you Matt it's like you're doing this on purpose"

I get up and cover my naked body.

"Leave my room"
"I'm sorry"
"Leave, please"

After Matt gets out I finish taking a shower and head downstairs, I bump into Lilly.

"Hey girl, you shower for too long"
"Something happened have you seen Matt"

I ask her looking around.

"I saw him talking to Sophie a few minutes ago"
"Sophie, what was she doing here"

Lilly looks at me surprised.

"I thought you invited her over"
"Why on Earth would I do that anyway where did you see them"
"Outside" she responds.
"Thanks"

I head outside and find Matt about to head out in his car.

"Hey I need to talk to you"
"Hmm?"

He gets out of his car.

"About what happened in my room, please forget about that. What you saw"

"I know, I'm sorry I came into your room like that I regret the whole thing and after what might unfold I just want to say sorry in advance"
"In advance, what for"

He surprise kisses me and gets into his car.

"Goodnight Emily, hope to see you soon"
"Matt wait"

I remain surprised as to why he did that. But later I go into the house and finish the rest of the party. The next evening I head to Elijah's place and after knocking Richard opens the door.

"Hey Richard"
"He Emily, Elijah left for Paris this morning something about buying a new apartment there"

What, a freaking what? In Paris why didn't he text me.

"Oh thanks, when will he be back"
"Since he isn't using his jet he'll probably take 3 to four days"
"Alright, thank you Richard"

What's up with Eli, why isn't he talking to me. Four days later I see Richard pulling into Elijah's drive way in the evening. I get out to welcome him. I reach and give him a hug.

"Don't touch me"

Okay ouch, that hurt. He pushes me away.

"What did I do Eli"
"Don't act like you don't the stupid Sh**t you did"

What were Matt's intentions in Emily's room and what was he apologizing in advance for after Emily found out he talked to Sophie.

Why has Elijah just said that to Emily.
