he felt himself drowning as the darkness pulled him down. he sunk deeper and deeper into the darkness until his back hit the seemingly nonexistent bottom. it was silent.
then, he heard a voice.
"jungkook."
jungkook opened his eyes and saw jimin's head looking down into the darkness where jungkook lay. he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. weird, he thought.
"jungkookie.... JUNGKOOK. JEON. JUNG. KOOK!!!"
he felt an outside force shaking his body and his eyes popped open to see none other than park jimin screaming at him. he rolled his eyes internally.
"WAKE UP YOU SLEEPYHEAD," jimin said while kicking jungkook's scattered belongings to the side of his closet. "you seriously need to clean your room, jungkook. look at this mess."
"when do i have the time?"
"you can FIND time."
"ugh. whatever. get out of the room and let me change." jimin stuck his tongue out, rolled his eyes, and skipped into the kitchen, where hoseok was frying eggs.
jungkook slipped on an oversized black sweater and some cotton shorts, brushed his teeth, washed his face, and joined the other two in the kitchen.
the three ate breakfast in comfortable silence, occasionally bringing up new hobbies or music that they liked or ranting about their annoying coworkers. although hoseok was jungkook's biological older brother, jimin was practically a part of their family now. he had been their one of their closest friends for years now, and had even moved into their house in high school. "you know you need me here," he had said, eyes sparkling. and could they have said no?
"hey besties, would you like to come to this cute cafe with me later? i found it on instagram and it looks so insta-worthy! pretty please?" jimin said with his irresistible puppy eyes.
"sorry, jiminie, but i have some work to do today. why don't you go out with jungkookie? he needs some vitamin d for a change." hoseok looked to jungkook expectingly.
