It All Started With A One Night Stand

Winning at Life Part II

Alyssa's POV:
I knew the plan. I knew that I was supposed to wait for him to get on stage and collect his MVP trophy and do his speech. However that knowledge didn't stop me. As soon as I saw him score the winning touchdown, I quickly went passed security, went down onto the field and ran straight to Nathan.

He looked surprised when he saw me but as soon as he was surprised he was thrilled and ran toward me. We met halfway, as he hugged me, picked me up and kissed me. The kiss was passionate and strong. The kiss was sweet and loving. The kiss was in front of everyone at the game. The kiss was made for a champion.

I completely missed all of the jealous and envious looks from the girls, the disgusted and surprised looks from the boys, and even the awws from my friends and the people who didn't care about status but could see the beautiful couple behind it. I missed all of it as I got into the kiss and he bit my lip telling me that he wanted to open my lips and I did the same way that I opened my legs so that he could wrap it around his waste.

However as humans still needed oxygen we had to separate and that's when I saw what happened and everybody's reaction. We were out as a couple and now at least several hundred people can attest to that. I started feeling embarrassed and insecure but Nathan didn't let me as he held onto me as if I was his award.

"I can't believe that you just did that." Nathan said with a smile on his face as he took me on another breath taking kiss. I love this man.

I quickly felt myself be torn away from him as other members of his team went and hugged him and he got pulled on stage to receive his MVP award. I went back down to sit beside Victoria, happy that the kiss happened and proud that he won but still feeling bad that no one cared. But I shouldn't feel bad, this was Nathan's moment not mine.

I see the Cheshire face of Victoria as I approached the seats. She hugged me and said "I didn't know you had it in but I'm happy that you did."

Nathan started giving his MVP speech and it was amazing. I knew it would be from the fact that I would find him practicing the speech in the mirror. He did his speech amazingly. He captivated the audience and made it focus on the only thing that mattered, him. He energized the audience and brought up the energy level. He did his speech with grace and flare, with beauty and honestly, making him a great leader.

"Thank you guys so much for this award. I cannot believe that you give it to me when there are so many great members on the team, so many important pieces that lead to our victory. I remembered two years ago when I first got here, you guys opened up to me with open arms and took me in as a brother and as a leader. You guys made me your starting quarterback in my first year, a honour that I do not take lightly. I have worked everyday to make it up to you and show you that your team is in good hands and I think just that by helping lead this team to back to back championships. Thank you so much for this award and for the trust you have in me. Thank you to Laurier for giving us such hard competition and pushing us to our limits and making us play the best way possible. Thank you to all of the other teams we faced on our way here, you made us ready for this moment. Finally, thank you to my family who I know is out there supporting me now like you always have." Nathan said as he looked at the audience and made them all feel part of it.

"I want to end this here by thanking someone who came into my life recently and made it more than amazing." Nathan said as he put the trophy down on the table and walked off the stage.

"He's talking about you." Victoria said as she nudged me. He can't possibly be talking about me. Can he?

"Alyssa Kwan. I love you and now everyone knows." Nathan said as he walked into the audience and up the aisle to me. He held out his hand waiting for mine and before I could think I gave it to him. He pulled me up, hugged me and bent down to kiss me. I heard everyone clap and cheer around us.
