It All Started With A One Night Stand

Winter Vocation

"Hey do you have everything?" Victoria asked me as I zipped up my bag. This year all 3 of us were going home on the same day. Jasmine was going to picked up by her parents, I was taking the bus and Victoria was going to ride home with her sister who always lived in London.

"Yup. Just finished." I said as I looked over my packing list and scratched out the remaining items. I turned to go sit on my bed as I looked at my room. Even though I love my mom, after spending one and half years here, I felt like London was my home. This house was my home and Victoria and Jasmine were my family.

"Great. Hurry up you don't want to be late." Victoria told me as she grabbed one of my luggages and pulled it downstairs. As I was staying at my moms for 2 weeks, I decided to make sure I had everything I could need leading me to have 2 suitcases, a backpack, my computer bag and my purse.

Victoria and I walked to her sisters car as we packed up my stuff in it. Their car was already overflowing as they had their stuff in it. Victoria and her sister Jeanine was driving me to the train station. Nathan was supposed to send me but couldn't last minute which was much better.

I looked back to see Jasmine and her dad loading her stuff in the car as her mom told her what to do. I look over to see Victoria and Jeanine bickering the way that sisters do. I look back at the house, I can't believe that I will be away from them and this house for 2 weeks. But I knew it will be good for me and my mom.

"Let's take pictures." Jasmine yelled as her dad closed the back door. She ran over to me and Victoria and grabbed our arms as she pulled us to the front of the house.

She was in the middle, with me on her right and Victoria on her left. Jasmine's mom had a camera and was going to take pictures of us. We looked into the camera and smiled.

"This time we need to do a joofy picture." Jasmine said. This lead to me and Jasmine being back to back being in a spy position as Victoria made a funny face.

"Okay this time we need to say something we love." I said looking at them with a big smile.

Without having to even say anything else all 3 of us wrapped our arms around each other and screamed "I love us." 

The train ride was long and tiring. As someone who is claustrophobic and hates being on a train, being on a 3 hour long stuffed train ride sucked. The only good thing was that my phone was charged and I could text Nathan, Jasmine and Victoria. It was nice texting them as it made me miss them less, but I definitely still missed them.

Saying goodbye to Nathan last night, Jasmine at the house and Victoria at the train station was hard but felt worth it as I got off the bus and saw my mom. She looked old and rundown but still as beautiful and strong as she has always been. I quickly ran with my stuff right into her arms as she hugged me. I completely forget how much I missed her when I was gone but being in her arms made me completely feel the love.

"I made all your favourites." My mom said as she picked up one of my luggages and helped me take them to her car. "There are at home waiting for us! I also got time off so we can spend the whole two weeks together." She hugged me tightly to show me her love.

"Really? But can we financially handle it?" I asked me mom knowing that we had financial difficulties. Being a full time waitress at two jobs didn't pay much. I wanted to carry my own weight and help pay the bills but my mom said that she wanted me to focus on school and be a kid. This is why I try to limit how much I spend.

"Yes. I worked very hard in the months leading up to now but we definitely can afford it." She said smiling proudly.

"Thank you so much." I said as I kissed her cheek as we got into the car.
