"Where are we going?" Nathan asked me as I gave him directions back to the beach house and may have gotten us lost. I am horrible at directions so I don't know why I thought that I would get them right, but either way I did.

Now we were just driving around with me trying to give directions to the beach house while hopping that we didn't run out of gas.

"I know where we are going." I said as I bit my lip and tried to make out where we were and how we could get there.

"I think it could be easier if you just tell me." Nathan whined while looking at me. He was excited in the beginning by the idea of a surprise but now he looked like he would rather be doing anything else.

"Okay fine. I am going to the street with all the nice stores and beach houses." I said realizing that if I kept up at this pace then we would end up running out of gas in the middle of nowhere.

"Oh that street. I know where that is. I can probably get us there." Nathan said while turning on the direction opposite what I was planning on telling him to go. "Why are we going there?"

"It's a surprise." I said being happy that we were back on track.

"Are you sure? Pretty much everything is close there right now." Nathan said. I felt like he thought I was crazy or being stupid but I was sure going to prove him wrong.

"Yes I know what I'm doing. Now get out." I said.

"What we aren't even halfway there?" Nathan complained while looking at me as if I was insane.

"No we need to change places. I want to drive and then you can give me directions. This way I can surprise you properly." I said sternly. I wanted him to do what I said because I had this idea that I was going to blindfold him to surprise him and blindfolding him while he was driving was a bad idea. But blindfolding him when we got close while I was driving was good.

"Are you sure?" He asked me.

"Yes yes yes." I chanted until he stopped me by saying "Fine," and stopped near the sidewalk.

He got out of the car, opened my side and got out. I went to his side, got in and started driving. From him giving instructions and me driving quickly, we got there in no time.

As I started recognizing the area and knew that we were close and I could get us the rest of the way there, I turned to Nathan and said "Put this on," while giving him a blindfold.

"Why are you giving me a blindfold?" Nathan asked me as he looked at me suspiciously.

"Because it's part of the surprise." I said trying to convince him.

"But I already know where we are going?" He told me while looking at me confused.

"Just put it on." I said. "If you trusted me you would. Just like I trusted you when I listened to you after I thought you cheated."

"Fine." Nathan said while pouting, putting the blindfold on and putting his arms in front of him. He looked cute pouting and I think he would look much cuter when he finds out the surprise.

I was careful to make sure that I was driving the right way and had the right house. I pulled the car into the driveway, got out and walked to the door. I looked at the sign and saw that it still had my name. This was going to be amazing.

I went back to the car and heard Nathan tried to open his door. I quickly went to my side, closed his door and locked it.

"Why can't I get out?" Nathan asked me with a pout.

"Because the surprise is still not done." I said as I got the picnic basket I hid in the backseat behind our luggage. I went back into the house, went to the living room, laid out the blankets, put the food out and lit up the candles. It looked beautiful and I was sure he was going to love the surprise.
