Cara POV

"Hurry up Kean, we're gonna be late!" I called from downstairs.

"Calm down, I'm sure everyone can wait a little longer."

"Keanu Carmichael if I have to deal with Lucía's pregnancy hormones because you made us late I'm gonna be pissed."

I heard him laugh from upstairs. "Alright babygirl, I'm coming."

I was currently waiting for Keanu to come down so we could go meet Lucy, Ace, Cruz, and Lani at a local restaurant.

Everyone kind of went their separate ways after we finished our senior year. Except for Cruz and Kalani of course, they still had to finish theirs. Ace and Lucy went to the same college, but Kean and I wanted to study different things so we couldn't. We talked everyday and visited each other whenever we could and honestly things are great. Today was the first day of the summer vacation we all planned together. Cruz and Lani have finished senior year. I'm not sure where Cruz is going to college, but I know Lani has already been given some opportunities to be an actress. I'm so proud of her.

"Okay, I'm ready, let's go."

When we got to the restaurant everyone was already there at a table. 

"Oh my god Lucy, look at you!" I ran over and hugged her, careful not to squeeze her stomach.

She laughed, "Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm any less scary. Remember that."

"I have no doubt in my mind that you are probably significantly scarier while pregnant." Kean said giving her a side hug.

We all went around giving each other hugs and just catching up.

"How far along are you Lucy?"

"Almost 5 months. And guess what?"

"What?"

"It's a girl!!"

Ace groaned and leaned his head back. "Oh, no, more screaming."

Lucy slapped him, "Oh shut up, you're excited to be a having a girl."

"Of course I'm excited to be having a girl but you're always yelling about all the stuff she's gonna wear, just... shhh." He put his hand on her lips and pretended to fall asleep. She rolled her eyes and looked away.

"So how're you guys doing Cruz? Anything interesting happen? You two have been awfully quiet."

It's true, Cruz was usually the life of the party and Kalani was usually a close second, but today they both seemed scarily quiet. 

Cruz didn't say anything, he just looked down at his shoes so Kalani took it into her hands to say something.

"We just... if we tell you guys you have to promise not to freak."

Kean looked suspiciously at her, "What's going on Lani?"

"I..." She looked around studying everyone's faces, "I'm pregnant too."

I gasped, Kean growled, Lucy screamed, and Ace 'whooped'.

"Why are you guys so down? This is great news!"

"I just... what would mom think Lucy?"

"Cruz, are you serious? Mom would be happy that she's getting two grandkids!"

"Yeah, and Lani if you're worried about our mom, I'm sure she'd understand. We'll all help you if she doesn't, but I'm sure she will." Kean smiled a genuine smile at her and Cruz and they both smiled back.

"So Cara, fucktard, do you guys have any amazing life changing news?" And Cruz was back to his normal self again I see. 

"Well I did give Cara another ring-pop ring and tell her it means we're engaged."

"To which I replied, 'I'm not marrying you unless you actually ask me to marry you.'"

"So in conclusion, no. We're the boring couple in this friendgroup."

"I mean... that's not completely true."

Kean whipped his head toward me, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well... I have missed my period for the past few months. I was gonna check after this whole and then tell you but now I feel like we're being left out."

"Oh my god we're all gonna be pregnant together! And we could have like a triplet wedding while we're pregnant. Or we could do it after we give birth and if we all have girls they could be the flower girls ohmygosh ohmygosh."

"Breath, baby, breath."

Everyone was laughing with Ace and Lucy while Ace was calming her down because she used too much oxygen while ranting. Kean took that opportunity to whisper in my ear, "Was that true or were you just saying that for fun?"

"Why would I tell everyone I might be pregnant 'for fun'? Lucía would absolutely destroy me for messing with her emotions like that. Especially now that she's pregnant!"

"You're not wrong." He looked away for a second. "So I might be a father?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Is that okay?"

"More than okay Caralily Greene, that's amazing."

We both smiled at each other and then turned our attention back to what was happening. Lucy was finally calm and everyone was trying to feel if the baby was moving.

"I think I felt her kick!"

"No way! I've been trying to feel her kick for months and she did it for you? I'm the kids dad!"

Ace stood up from next to Lucy's belly and looked around at all of us.

"Can you believe that this all happened just cause of that stupid groupchat?"

"The one that we still have?" Kalani asked, still rubbing Lucy's stomach.

"We're not even gonna be teens anymore soon." Cruz said, running his fingers through his hair.

"Don't you dare even think about changing the groupchat name! I came up with it myself and even if we're not teens anymore it will stay." I narrowed my eyes at all of them.

"So what? We're always gonna be... 'The Quaranteens'?"

"Exactly!"

Everyone sat back down next to their significant other and shared something with them right before the food came. I completely forgot we even ordered food.

"You know Cara when you think about it... for a while there, before we were dating we were sorta stuck. And not in the literal way."

I smiled, "You're right we were kind of stuck saying the same things over and over, believing they were true."

"'We're just friends'" We both said together. 

"Like a broken record tape."

We laughed together, then joined in the new conversation that was started over the food.
