"Pandemic"

“Hey mom!” I greeted her while walking down stairs holding my shoulder bag.

“Goodmorning sweetie” she greeted back and kissed my cheek before going back to what she's doing.

Tumikhim lang ako sa kape na nakalagay sa dining table tsaka nagpaalam kay mommy.

“Bye Mom!” I immediately leave the house and get my car key.

Mom shouted to eat my breakfast but I refused to go back. Agad kong binuksan ang pintuan ng mustang ko para makapasok na sa school. I don't want to be late on our final exam.

I saw a vacant on the parking lot so I take the slot. In Harvard University we don't care of our expensive cars,phones,bags and other stuffs because all of us had that things.

As I entered our respective room I saw my bestfriend Gio. I sat down beside him reading a book.

“Hey! You're not done with that subject?” I pointed the book his reading.

“Yes” tipid nyang sagot.

Hindi ko na sya inabala kaya nang dumating ang prof. namin ay umayos na ako ng upo. He gave us test papers and start the time to answers this 10 pages test questionaires.

It takes an hour to finish those test papers. Hinulaan ko na lang yung iba, wala na kong magawa kundi hulaan baka hindi pa ko umabot sa oras.

The bell rang it means the exam is done. We pass it forward to our prof. so he can leave na.  I hate him for being bossy like he is dean of the university wth.

After he leave parang naging club ang loob ng classroom.

“OMG! Goodbyeee examm!! Helloo Prom!”

“Goshh i'm soo exciteddd, I can't wait to wear my favorite gown”

“I'll ask my crush to be my prom date!”

“Son of a bitch! We're graduating!”

“Omg! The senior trip will my best day ever!”

Yan ang mga narining kong kwentuhan at sigawan galing sa mga kaklase kong excited na sa events na mangyayari. Ofcourse i'm so excited too lalo na makakapag chill na kami ng other friends ko kase hindi ko naman sila classmates.

We exit to our classroom grabe feel na feel ko ang excitement nila. Pumunta kami ni Gio sa may cafeteria para umorder ng coffee para kasing ginisa kami sa lintek na exam. 2 months na lang graduate na ko ng senior high.

I saw a table that has two chairs on it. I grab Gio's arm cuz her braincells if flying again maybe because of the exam. Baka mamaya mabaliw na 'to at dahil ko na sa pinakamalapit na mental.

“Hey! Are you okay” I snapped my finger to caught his attention.

“Oh... what?” gulat nyang tanong ng makabalik sa reyalidad.

“Stupid! What are you thinking huh?!!” sa sipsip sa inorder kong frappe.

“I wonder if my answer in number 50 is correct” tumingin sya sa taas habang nakapangalumbaba at iniisip ang exam kanina.

“Wth!” yan na lang ang nasabi kaya di ko na pinansin.

I open my phone to check our gc.

“Party Girls” that's name of our gc.

Shaina: Sasama ba kayo sa lahat ng events before our graduation day?

Jane: It's a big YES  for meeeee

Me: Ofcourseee we can't miss those events

Kinsley: Me too! My mom is more excited than me goshhhh she immediately called our designer and ask to make a gown for me she didn't even ask me what gown I want!!!

Leia: Gosh that's unfair ha HAHAHAHHA

Leia: Count me! Shaina i'll goingg too dzuhhh

It seems that my girls are also excited for the events.

I was watching a news on our living room. And heard a bad news.

“Some of the countries in the world are infected of 'corona virus'. The countries that has a cases of corana virus cancelled all the classes. Maaring tumagal ito ng 1 taon” the news reporter said.

Nakaramdam ako ng takot dahil baka magkaroon na rin ng case dito samin.

1 week before the events.

All the students in Harvard received an email from our professors says:

“Good day to all, This is your Dean Ramirez announcing that starting on Monday, March 6, 2020. All students will no longer be able to go in the university due to the virus and it is also mandated by our government. All events that occur next week are canceled as well. There is no class in 1 year, so it is for the benefit of every student. If possible we should not leave the house first and be clean in body. Stay safe to all. Thank you.”

It hurts as a graduating student. When I read the content of the email, I immediately opened our group chat.

Kinsley: WTF! Fuck youu coronaa!! arghhhh

Jane: Yeahhh fuck that viruss we're almost there

Me: Girls how about the prom, senior trip and graduation. This is our last year attending that and the graduation is once a year will happens. Why is this bullshits happeninggg!!! 😫😭

Leia: Calm down girls I know all of us want the event also it sucks that we're not going to attend our last prom, that we're not going to have senior trip and the worst is we're not going to experience walking to the stage and receiving a diploma sign that we are graduates 😭

All of us are now experiencing sadness over what happened.

About sa graduation namin ay ipapadala na lang daw nila sa bawat bahay namin and they're going to announce in the internet all the students graduated this year. I also heard that the government decide about how we're going to study on our house.

That's the government decision so our will continue.

It's fine for me because i've experienced that and it's no hassle for me to study online. But i'm concern to the other students who doesnt have a gadgets & internet connection because they don't have enough money to buy those things.

Someone's knocking on my room. It's mom. She probably worried about me because of the news. They also received same emails like the students.

“Sweetiee??” tawag nya sakin sa labas.

“Come in mom” walang gana kong sagot.

She sat down beside me, I leaned on the head board of my bed.

“Sweetie it's finee we're gonna celebration your graduation here inside the house. I know you're very excited to come in the events but they cancelled it for our safety” malumanay nyang sabi saken habang ako'y nakatungo pa rin.

“I know mom. But.. it's supposed to be my besr year and now? I find this is the worst” nagbabadya ng tumulo ang luha ko pinigilan ko.

She hugged so I can feel more better.

Masakit pa sa break-up 'tong nangyayare sa mundo natin. Lahat ng gusto nating gawin ay hindi na natin magagawa. We just have to stay at home do something will not make us bored.

“All four years for nothing” that's my mind said.

   Ang nararanasan natin ngayong pandemic ay syang nagpapahirap sa atin pero ito rin ang nagbibigay lakas sa atin para lumaban at magka-isa hindi lang sa paraan ng pagtulong maging sa paraan ng pagdadasal upang matapos na ang pandemic na ito. The virus has a lot of disadvantages for us but look at the bright side, while staying at home we can be more open to our families and do something or maybe you know more your self, new skills. This is to remind everyone that no matter happen God will never leave our side he's always with us. Just stay at home, keep on praying for our frontliners to our families who are in abroad or province and keep safe everyone.
