Chapter 7

Katerina and Amara were outside of the club now getting ready to go inside.

''So what happened with Valerio? Javi said you had a fight."

"Javi?Nickname base now?"

"That's beside of the point."

"Valerio really confuses me."

"How so?"

"He asked me on a date and then went and fucked a hoe."

"I get why you would be upset but you like him, don't you?"

"It's complicated."

"It isn't."

"Mar I can't get involved with someone."

"Just because Elijah betrayed you doesn't mean Valerio will too."

"Elijah didn't just betray me as you know."

They were interrupted by the bouncer asking them for their identifications. Once they entered the club, Katerina smiled. It was full of people dancing and drinking and nobody knew her.

"Oh my God Amara, Katerina what are you both doing here?"

Just then Alessandra appeared.

"Hey girl. Me and Katerina just wanted a break from everything."

"I was informed of what happened with Jane."

"Who the fuck is Jane?"

"The one you killed."

"Oh so she has a name. I sould inform her family."

Replied Katerina her voice filled with venom.

"Anyways come meet my friends."

Said Alessandra and guided the two women towards a group of three men.

"These are Mario, John and Travis. Mario is my boyfriend and these are his best friends. Boys these are Katerina and Amara."

Katerina looked at all three of them. Mario was for sure Italian whereas the other two should be American. Just as she was studying the three of them she caught Travis looking at her. Lust filled his eyes. That was her chance to get over Valerio.

''Katerina was it?"

"You're Travis I suppose."

"Yes can I buy you a drink?"

"Sure, whatever."

He turned to the bartender.

"A tequila shot for me and a pink vodka for the lady."

"Excuse me I would like a whiskey neat instead of the pink shit he ordered."

The bartender started making their orders.

"So you drink whiskey?"

"Yes,why?"

"I didn't know a lady like you would drink such strong drinks."

"That's why you supposed I would drink a pink vodka?"

"Exactly ladies shouldn't drink such strong alcohol."

Katerina was beyond mad. This sexist pig, Valerio never spoke to her like that, he respected her. She turned around and saw Valerio looking at them. She smirked and winked at him. She turned around kissed Travis on the cheek.

"Travis, Travis, Travis you see what I did there is not because I like you. You can ask Alessandra about it she will inform you accordingly."

She turned around and walked towards Valerio.

"Kiss of death? Very old school, I like it.''

"Well thank you."

"But Travis really? You wanted to go for him? He is a piece of shit."

"Yeah figured that. I needed someone to take me on a date since you didn't."

"Oh Katerina, my sweet Katerina, I told you to get ready for our date and you said you were busy. Busy clubing and hitting on Travis."

"If you weren't being a dick we wouldn't be here, we would be on our date."

Amara started running towards them. She was out of breath.

"Amara are you okay, what happened?"

"Katerina I went to the bathroom but the women's was full and I didn't want to wait so I went into the men's. The dude the sexist weird one was talking on the phone. He said something about tomorrow and we both know what tomorrow is. I don't know what the other dude said but sexist guy said and I quote Eta motyga dala mne potseluy smerti. Nikolai will be pleased to know that I located her. Yeah she is so hot. I will try and take her tomorrow when she will be all sad and lonely.). I have no idea what it means but yeah."

The colour drained from her face. Nikolai was close, he was very close and she couldn't stop him.

"What does that mean?"

"I...I...I need to leave."

Just as she tried to leave Valerio grabbed her arm.

"Stop fucking running and tell me."

"He is close."

"Who is?"

"Nikolai, he knows."

She kept repeating the same sentence. It was the first time Valerio had seen her panicked and scared. The first time she had a breakdown infront of him. He hugged her and she relaxed a little bit.

"Katerina stop panicking, you aren't weak, so stop being a little bitch, get your shit together and tell me what Nikolai says and what he knows."

When Valerio said that she came back to her senses quickly.

"None of your business. Amara we are leaving."

"Katerina no, not again. I know that you don't mean that we only leave the club. I don't want to go, not this time we need to stop running. You wanna run tomorrow? On that day?"

"Yes book plane tickets."

"Stop running. We can't run because of your past our whole lives. You've come so far, you are strong beautiful and your name sends shivers down people's spines. This time, this fucking time we are not running. So sit your ass down,explain the situation and live your life. Live a little more and maybe kill a little less."

It was the first time Amara talked like that. Her happiness was everything to Katerina so if staying meant her happiness then she would have to fight the demons of her past a little too early.

"Fine, we are staying."

"Glad you still got some brain cells in there."

"Oh and Mar talk to me like that again and I will fucking burn your hair off."

The two girls had made up as Valerio and Javier were waiting outside with their cars. Amara and Javier rode together whereas Katerina and Valerio shared the other car.

"So about what happened earlier, I am sorry. You didn't have to be infront of one of my episodes."

"Don't worry, you can tell me about it during our date."

"You don't give up, do you?"

"Italians aren't quitters sweetheart."

"Thank you."

"I'm happy that I helped even a little."

"So tomorrow morning?"

"Yes that works."
