Chapter 13

"Hey are you ready? Valerio is waiting for you."

Fiorenzo interrupted her from her long train of thought. She quickly put a fake smile on her face.

"Yeah sure, just a minute please."

She grabbed her purse and went out the door. She was wearing a black dress that reached mid-thigh and had some gold detail which matched her gold earings. Valerio was waiting at the lobby of the hotel, looking like a real mafia boss. He had put on a black shirt but the first few buttons were undone, and the sleeves were scrunched up.

"Well you look good."

Said Katerina while undressing him with her eyes.

"You look ravishing, little tiger."

A sly smile appeared on her face, which to her surprise was very much real.

"Where are we going?"

"I'm taking you to one of my restaurants."

He said and pride was evident in his voice.

"Well lead the way Mr. Ferrari."

They got into a car but Valerio wasn't driving.

"You got a driver, really?"

"What? I need special things for a special lady."

He smirked and gave her a small wink. His arm was draped over her shoulder and she could feel his minty breath.

"So I'm special, huh?"

"Of course you are, my queen."

In other cases she would have cringed but she found herself almost blushing. It isn't everyday a hot piece of ass called Valerio says you are his queen.

"We are here."

The driver announced. Valerio got out first and opened the door for her.

"What's gotten into you Val? Didn't think you were the gentleman type."

Valerio was right next to her in an instant. His hand in the small of her back while walking towards the restaurant.

"In the bedroom I'm not."

He whispered in her ear and she cleared her throat as they reached the entrance.

"Good evening, how may I help you?"

Said the girl that was in front of the entrance.

"I have a reservation."

Said Valerio sounding a little bit too harsh.

"Of course. Just tell me your name."

"Valerio Ferrari."

It was as if the poor girl saw a ghost. Was he that scary to other people? Katerina thought.

"Oh yes Mr. Boss I meant sir Valerio, I'm sorry I meant Mr. Ferrari. This way please."

Katerina was trying so hard to keep herself from laughing while Valerio had an annoyed look on his face.

When the girl showed them to their table, Katerina started laughing while Valerio was giving her the I'm annoyed it's not funny look.

"Katerina that's enough."

Katerina closed her nose and mouth to stop the laughter from returning.

"Okay I'm good, I'm good."

However her mood dropped when a waitress came with the buttons of her uniform undone, a face caked with make up and her boobs pushed higher up than the sky.

"Good evening Mr. Valerio what may I get you?"

Katerina was already pissed. It was as if she didn't exist. This bimbo was making heart eyes at her date, trying to seduce him.

"Excuse me sweetheart, would you mind doing your fucking job and stop making eyes at my date? Because next time you will be the appetizer."

Now it was Valerio's turn to try and hold his laughter. While the waitress was shocked. Valerio finally put the boss expression again on his face.

"Please get us a different waiter or waitress and leave your name at the bar. Wait for my secretary's phone call. Please return your uniform after you finish your shift."

The girl almost started crying, she shot Katerina a death glare and left. After that another guy came.

"What can I get for you and the beautiful lady?"

"Valerio for fucks sake don't you hire normal people?"

The boy started blushing as Valerio shot daggers his way.

"I would like a carbonara, and for the lady?"

"I'll have the same thank you."

The boy walked away looking like a tomato. After a while their food came and no further comments were made. They had just finished their food when Valerio's phone rang. A lot of course words were heard until he threw it on the table.

"Val what happened?"

"We need to go back."

"Why what happened?"

"There's a letter for you. From Nikolai attached to a tulip."

"Another one?"

Katerina was very surprised so it slipped her mouth, only after did she realise what she said.

"What do you mean another one Katerina?"

Valerio's expression had changed his eyes now displayed fury and concern.

"I got one today after my fight."

"After what fight?"

Another thing she forgot to mention. Anger was now visible in Valerio's face but they weren't going to make a scene here. He got up and grabbed her arm until they reached the car.

Katerina didn't fight back because she knew that this time he was right. Once they reached the hotel Valerio got out and Katerina was right behind him. When they reached the room they saw Fiorenzo on the couch.

"Fiorenzo get out now!"

Screamed Valerio while running his hands through his hair. Fiorenzo quickly got up and left after giving an apologetic look to Katerina.

"Can you calm the fuck down?"

She spat as she heard the door close behind Fiorenzo.

"No, Katerina I can't. Are you a fucking idiot? I want to protect you but you do dumb shit all the time."

"I don't need your protection asshole."

They were both screaming at the top of their lungs.

"I fucking care about you. "

He screamed and punched the glass table which of course shuddered. Small pieces of glass going in his hand. Her expression softened now. She went over to him and touched his hand.

"Val this whole thing between you and me is new to the both of us."

She paused for a bit looking at him.

"You made me soft, I haven't killed someone in a while but I don't mind. Because all my mind thinks about is you."

He looked at her and his expression softened too. He hugged her really tight. They stayed like this for a bit enjoying each other's presence.

"Let's go to the bathroom there must be a first aid kit. Since you can't handle your anger issues."

She said before dragging him into the bathroom. After some time they went to bed. Katerina was thinking that this man had made her bend her morals, whereas Valerio was thinking how much of an amazing woman Katerina is. With those thoughts the two fell asleep.
