Chapter Two: Homecoming

Ten years later...

The young man grimaced as he felt the heat of the sun's glare from his face, slowly rousing him from his sleep. He opened his eyes and hissed in pain as the late morning light from the plane's window seat momentarily blinded him with its intensity.

What was that about? He groggily mused to himself in silence.

The dreams were back. Not that he could remember what they were about of course. But he still get a faint grasp of fear, betrayal and... Falling?

He shook his head to clear away the lingering traces of sleep in his eyes. He did not pursue the dream he had earlier, knowing from past experiences that to probe deeper was to have really painful migraines immediately after doing so.

“Is there anything I can get for you, sir?”

The young man looked up to see the brunette flight attendant standing by his seat. He blinked several times, wincing at the bright light of the sun's glare before he shielded his eyes with an arm, letting out a soft almost childish whine and pointing at said window.

“Oh dear! Here, let me help you with that.” A light movement and the insides of the private jet considerably darkened to a bearable state.

The young man sighed in relief. He frowned and let out a discreet yawn, making a note to speak to his foster father regarding the disturbing dreams he kept on having the past few days.

Sister was right, he mused as he sat back down after lowering the blinds. I really need get some away time soon.

“Is there anything else I can get for you, sir?”

“Coffee, please.” He muttered, under his breath. He didn't even remember the flight home, having slept right through it. Of course, there had been this job that his father ordered him to do but that wasn't the point.

Officially, Leopard Kuraihi, adopted son of the sixth richest man in Asia, Kuraihi Natsu, is supposed to be returning home after visiting her older sister in Japan.

There was no valid reason for passing out in exhaustion on the duration of the flight, despite having been awake for the past four days and nights fulfilling the real reason why he was sent to Japan.

He was too lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice the flight attendant approach him until the woman was just a few steps away from him. “Your coffee, sir. Now, is there anything else I can get for you, sir?”

Leopard looked up to watch the brunette flight attendant set a cup of foaming espresso down on the table. The attendant leaned over the table more than was necessary, displaying her ample bosom and keeping her brown eyes focused exclusively on the young man at the seat.

“That will be all.” Leopard stated coldly, reaching for the frothy cup of coffee, his icy blue eyes never acknowledging her presence.

The attendant turned away with a disappointed look on her face, returning to whatever tasks she was supposed to do during flight.

Snorting contemptuously at the lady's actions, Leopard allowed his thoughts to the past few days.

It was a shame that the Kamikusa Clan had to be eliminated, he mused. They were originally an old ninja clan but had degraded into the Yakuza over the years. They were honorable but the Master said they were getting dangerous and they had to be eliminated before they cause more trouble to his older sister and the Japan branch of the Dark Flame Clan that was currently heading.
