TAYLOR'S POV
"Caroline are you ready?" I asked into the next room. Suddenly she emerged wearing her shoes and an angry face. It was for the best that I wasn't leaving her here alone and I wished she understood that. We went out to my car and she slammed the door when she got in. I let it slide because I knew she wanted me to yell at her or get mad or say something about it.
20 minutes later we were at my parents house. We both got out of the car and I rang the doorbell. My mom answered and led Caroline and I to the living room. I sat down on the couch beside Caroline and began stroking her hair while visiting with my mom. I stayed and talked for a while because I knew Caroline didn't want me to leave, but eventually I had to.
I said bye to my mom first and told her thank you for staying with Caroline. She told me she had something to give me and that she would go get it and then left the room. I turned to my daughter and she didn't look angry anymore, now she just looked kind of sad that this was the situation she was stuck in.
"Goodbye Care." I said and she stood up to hug me. I gave her a hug and bent down a little to kiss her head.
"I'll be back at like 5 or 6 alright?" I told her and she nodded.
"I love you." I said, smiling at her dull responses to everything.
"Love you." She mumbled back. I laughed and told her bye again before heading back towards the door.
CAROLINE'S POV
I spent the morning talking to Andrea and watching TV. When it was time for lunch I ate and I took my next set of pills. I had to take an anxiety pill at night before I go to bed and during lunch. And now since I'm on these pills Taylor thinks I should be taking naps, which I wasn't sure about.
Her reasoning was that since I'm now taking these pills to lower my anxiety levels I should be able to sleep easier and I haven't been getting much sleep lately so naps would be really good for me. I tried to argue with her on this at first but then I just went with it to make her happy.
It seemed that Andrea knew about Taylor's ideas on napping also because after lunch she subtly brought it up to me.
"Caroline you can go lay down in your mom's old room if you need to." Were her exact words. And again, I went to Taylor's old room to lay down to make her happy. I pulled back all the covers on the bed and climbed in. I wasn't really that tired but I closed my eyes anyway, not a minute after I did Andrea came into the room.
"Your mom is on the phone Care." She said, coming up to the bed and handing me her phone.
"Hello." I said.
"Hey girl, are you alright?" She asked and I wasn't sure why.
"Yeah, I'm fine why?" I asked.
"I don't know, I was just wondering, sometimes I worry about you." She told me and I believed it, that was why she had me here.
"Anyway, I just called to check on you, I've got to go to rehearsal now." She said.
"Okay." I said, wondering why she called if that's all she had to say.
"I love you." Taylor said.
"Love you, bye." I replied.
"Goodbye." She said before hanging up. I gave Andrea's phone back to her when I was done.
"Are you going to take a nap?" Andrea asked me as she got up.
"Yeah." I told her.
"Okay, I'll be in to check on you." She said before she left the room. I was sure it was Taylor that had her checking on me. But I didn't know why Taylor thought I was incapable of being alone without someone always keeping an eye on me. I tried to get to sleep but it took awhile, after 20 minutes of laying in Taylor's old bed I heard the door creak open and I shut my eyes really quick and pretended like I was asleep.
I heard Andreas footsteps coming into the room and I could feel her looking at me. But soon I heard her footsteps walking away again. When I did hear them walking away I felt a pang of loneliness. I didn't want someone to have to be in here watching me, but I also got sad when I was all alone, and maybe that was why Taylor didn't want to leave me.
I finally got to sleep and I found out that Taylor was right, napping mixed with less anxiety was a wonderful thing. It was great because I woke up at 5. I had taken a 4 hour nap, sometimes I didn't even sleep 4 hours a night. And the only reason I woke up was because Taylor was back to get me.
"Caroline, wake up, I'm here." Taylor said and I opened my eyes and turned around to see her sitting on the bed beside me. I was confused at first, then I turned around to look at the clock and I saw what time it was. Taylor rubbed my leg through the covers and started talking to me. I felt like the last couple days after my little hospital incident she'd felt kind of bad for me and she was trying to talk to me more and spend more time with me.
I laid there and watched her talk about her day until she started to get up.
"You ready to go?" She asked me and I crawled out from under the blankets. I followed Taylor down the stairs and out the door after we said goodbye to her mom. Back at home Taylor had Chinese food there ready for me, I soon would find out that the food was an early apology for what was to come.
"I'm getting you in to see a mental health counselor tomorrow." She told me cautiously.
"No, mom, please no." I whined as soon as I heard.
"Hey, it'll be fine, it's what the doctor said to do so we're going to do it." She said.
"I don't wanna go, I can't go." I pleaded.
"You have to Care, it's how you get better." Taylor said, handing me a fortune cookie. The argument went until Taylor finally put a stop to it and told me that I was going no matter what and that 'she was doing it because she loved me'.
Late that night I was still awake up in my room, Taylor came in at around 12:30 and told me that she was going to sleep and she wanted me to come with her since I wasn't already asleep. So I went down to her room with her and laid beside her in bed. In some ways Taylor always wanting to make sure I was alright all the time was irritating, but other times I kind of liked it, it was good to know that she was there to care about me.
And I guess ever since that panic attack on the plane it was alright that she was always looking out for me, she was just being a good parent.
