Chapter 17- The Plot Thickens

Early next morning at around 6am, Sheldon was the first to awake. He glanced around the room at his sleeping peers and promptly turned on the lights.

'Ohhhhhgod turn that off!'

'Uhh...what time is it?'

'Unfff, ' Howard turned over on his side.

'Gentlemen, time to wake up before the staff and students stream in.' Sheldon was packing up his stuff.

'Ugh, I only had like four hours of sleep, ' Leonard complained. He thought he'd said it in his head but Raj was smiling. 'You stayed up with Penny, I bet. '

'Did not.' Leonard quickly got up and busied himself with rolling up his sleeping bag.

'Don't hide from me, I caught you sneaking out.'

'Yeah yeah, so I did.' Leonard felt kind of cranky. 'Anyway, I have something to tell and show you guys.' He proceeded to tell them about the secret room and Stuart.

'Another secret room?' Raj's eyes widened. 'I wonder what the building on top of this land was before the academy was built.'

'That's a good point. ' Sheldon was thoughtful.

'And I found a yearbook. Specifically the class photo of the graduates of 1989.' He flipped to the page.

'Isn't that Mr P?' Even though he was a few decades younger,the resemblance was there.

'Yes but look at this.' A face right next to him was scrawled over with pen ink, almost as if the person who did it was angry. A messy scrawl at the bottom read You will pay for this.
''What does that mean?' Howard had finally awakened.

'I have no idea.' Leonard confessed. 'But I have this hunch it's some sort of clue.'

'Looks like it's just the work of an angsty teenager. Typical, really. In middle school, someone defaced my picture in the yearbook too.' Sheldon said.

Leonard felt sorry for him. It wasn't his fault that people treated him  like that.

'Well, at least there's another secret room for us to explore.' Raj said excitedly.

Meanwhile Howard was flipping through the yearbook and laughing at the hairstyles and clothes of people from the 90's. 'God I would never wear that.' He chuckled. Suddenly, a slip of paper dropped from one of the pages.

'Damn, someone from the 90's wants to hit on me.' He chuckled. The slip had a call me xoxo written on it followed by a phone number.

'We need to call this number, ' Raj said, excited. 'It may be the owner of the yearbook. '

'I really don't understand why people find the need to state the obvious. ' Sheldon sighed. He checked his phone, something which he had not done since the previous afternoon. 'I have to  return a call. Meanwhile, go wake the girls. '

'Hello? '

'Hey, can't talk. ' Missy sounded like she was in a rush. 'I still gotta do up my hair. Anyway, guess what? Dave's going to drive me to school every morning. I had a good talk to mom about everything. She nagged and all the usual stuff, but you know. '

'Listen. Dave is a cheater.'

'I don't have time for this nonsense, gosh. I gotta go. Call when you have something nice to say.' Her tone turned frosty and she hung up.

'Darn it. Now Missy's heart is going to get trampled all over.' Sheldon sighed.

'Morning, Sheldon. ' Penny had finally emerged from the room. She looked disoriented, but compared to Amy, she did look better even without makeup. Amy had quickly shuffled away in embarrassment. As if Sheldon wouldn't have seen her hair sticking up everywhere and her horrible morning face.

'Good morning. Can I ask, how did you get Dave to dump you?'

Penny squinted and stared at Sheldon for a few seconds. 'It's too early in the morning for me to face you, let me just go wash up first. ' she groaned and walked off.

Sheldon stood in his spot for a few moments, then zipped off a text to his sister.

Call me when you have time to talk. It's important.

He was going to get revenge for his baby sister.
