THE BEGINNING
"Officer! Officer!" The woman cried as she ran to the police station, the walls of the Violent Crimes Unit echoing with her cries.
"Yes ma'am? What's wrong?" The officer responds, brown eyes enlarging as he makes his way towards the middle-aged woman with worry written on his face.
"M-my son! He's been missing since yesterday morning! I've been looking for him everywhere!" She says as she wipes away the tears flowing down her cheeks.
"How old is he ma'am? And what is his name?" The officer replied as she lead her to the cubicle where he sat in.
"He's only seven years old officer! His name is Kwon Goohyun!" The woman replied as she sat down on the seat opposite of the officer.
"Kwon Goohyun, please state your name and hand me your ID ma'am," the officer said as he typed in his computer.
"Kwon Heejae, me and his father have been looking for him everywhere!" She said as she handed him her ID, in which the officer took before glancing at her and typing her information in the computer.
"When and where did you last see your son, ma'am?" The officer asked.
"My son told me he wanted to play with his friends using his bike at around 10 AM before lunch! My husband, Kwon Jae-chul was at work so I told him to be careful since he plays with his friends often, and that was the last time I saw him," the woman spoke.
"Have you noticed something unusual or any odd thing from your son?" The officer asked.
"Not that I remember of," the woman replied.
"Thank you Mrs. Kwon, we will try our best with this new investigation," the officer replied.
"Please give back my son as soon as possible," she said before bowing towards the officer in which he nodded off too.
As the woman exited the station, the officer turned to his companions, who were munching on glazed donuts and sipping on coffee as they watched the television.
"Hyung, what was that about?" A young officer asked him and he gazed at him before replying.
"Call Officer Choi, and gather the section heads,
We have a new case to solve."
_
"Hyung! Are you sure we got it all under control?" The younger one swam after his hyung.
"Careful Beomgyu, remember your tail cramp?" The older one responds as he looks at him trying to keep up with his pace.
"But hyung, what if the kingdom will go crazy again?" He asks as they swim through the darkest parts of the ocean.
"Relax Beom, everything is under control, stop overreacting, okay?" He responds towards the younger one.
"B-but, Namjoon hyung...," Beomgyu trails off.
"Shh, we're going to the dark reef now, be careful of anglers," Namjoon responds as he grabs the younger one's hand.
They both swim into the dark depths of the blue canvas, their glistening tails glowing in the dark depths as they reached the bed of the ocean.
They encounter a broken down, decaying, and huge sunken ship. The wood was covered with barnacles and seaweed, but the other mermans have built it into a much more stronger version than the sunken one.
Infront of the ship were two doric pillars placed beside each other with a huge amount of distance.
Suddenly, Namjoon grabs Beomgyu's hand and tugs him aside, and the younger one's eyes widened as he saw a huge sea creature pass by.
"Don't be scared, its just one of the Great White sharks patrolling," Namjoon says and he swims past Beomgyu as he enters through the pilars and into the small opening of the broken ship.
As they swam inside, Namjoon dragged Beomgyu with him by taking his hand, as they swam deeper into the ship.
"Hyung.... its getting darker," Beomgyu stutters, he tries to look back into the light behind them which was slowlu fading.
"I'm sorry that you're scared Beomgyu, but it isn't me who's dying to come when I said that he should be at home," Namjoon scoffs as he looks at the younger one's whimpering.
As they come across their destination, Namjoon hands the ring of golden keys to Beomgyu.
"H-hyung? What's this?" Beomgyu questions.
"Here, you open it," Namjoon told the younger one.
"W-why me?" Beomgyu stutters.
"I thought you knew about this? Man up Beomgyu, you're going to be legal next year," Namjoon says as he places the keys on Beomgyu's open palm.
"Hyung, I thought you were assigned for this!" Beomgyu responds.
"I am, but you'll be the one to check it out this time, where's the brave Beomgyu I just met earlier?" Namjoon cocks a brow and clenches his jaw as he gazes at the younger.
The younger boy swallows the lump in his throat before taking the gold keys into his hand before swimming to the black iron door.
He fumbles around the ring of keys for the right one as he glances at his hyung who was waiting impatiently.
After finding the right key, he enters it into the lock and pushes the black iron door open, and he slowly swims inside, his eyes absorbing all the things inside the room.
Meanwhile, Namjoon waits outside, crossing his arms as his midnight blue tail flows, his glistening scales covering his tail until it reaches his sky blue fins which were attached to the tail, and his silver hair was shining against the faint streaks of the ocean.
Soon, the young boy comes out of the room, and his blank face was Namjoon could see.
"So?" Namjoon asks him.
"Hyung.....
The cells are empty."
