Riele POV
After Jace dropped me off, I entered the house and was met by my dad who was standing in front of me furious

"Where are you coming from young lady?" My dad asked me

" I um ehh, emm---"

"You know those aren't words, you better talk or else"

"Nate, she went for a sleepover at  Ella's house"

My mom said from the stairs

"Really and who did you tell before going?"

"I told mom and uncle Reggie before going"

"Next time tell me before you go anywhere ok, you got me worried"

"Ok dad"

My dad hugs me and left. I walked to my mom

"Thanks mom, you totally saved my life"

"Anytime sweetie, I know how your dad would react if he found out you went on a date with Jace and got into an accident and stayed with Glory"

"Yeah so am guessing Glory told you"

"Yes she did. So do you wanna talk about it?"

"Talk about what?"

"About your date with Jace"

"Wow mom it wasn't a date"

"So what was it? Cos when two people that like each other go out together alone that's a date"

"It wasn't a date"

"Whatever, just tell me what happened"

"Well, he told me he was tired of his father controlling his life that he wants to take back control so that he can do whatever he wants to do and he also said he needs someone to understand and he says am the only one who can actually understands him"

"Do you like him?"

"Woah mom you just came out with it"

"Do you like him?"

She asked again and this time she looked serious

"I don't know I mean he makes me feel alive even if we were never close and even if we went for only one date, I feel happy when am with him, don't get me wrong I know he hurt me but when am with him I forget about what he did but let's just say I like him I'm scared of getting hurt again" I said with tears in my eyes

My mom consoled me and said

"Listen Rie, I know you're scared and I'm not gonna tell you that it's gonna be alright but I can only tell you one thing just because you got hurt one time it doesn't mean you should limit yourself because you're scared of getting hurt again. If you feel like you need to be just friends with him, I'm not gonna force you to do what you don't wanna do but if you want more then that's your decision to make okay. Now wipe your face we don't want your father seeing you like this now do we?"

I wiped my face and looked at her

"Thanks mom, you're the best I love you"

"Love you too sweetheart, good night"

"Good night Mom"

I left her and went straight to my room and sat on my bed thinking about what my mom said maybe I should give him a chance but as friends I am not ready to jump into a relationship with the enemy with all the thoughts I drifted to sleep without taking a shower

Jace's POV
I woke up to my dad shouting on top of his voice about something I don't really care until Xander said this

"Dude dad wants us downstairs asap, he's mad because someone killed Bernard"

I jumped out of my bed with fear written all over my face

"Xan, are you sure that's why he's mad?"

"Of course bruh if I were you I would stop asking questions and get my ass downstairs before he gets really angry"

My brother left leaving me in fear wondering how he found his body but most importantly how he found out, if my dad knows about Bernard then maybe he knows that I went out with Riele last night. Oh my God I'm screwed if he finds out I will never hear the end of it and he might make me do something to hurt her and I can't do anything to hurt her, I mean I love her. I shrugged all these thoughts and went downstairs to see my angry dad barking at his men

"Now all of you should tell me who killed Bernard or you're all gonna get killed" my dad told his men angrily but they all looked down

"Okay, no one wants to fess up I don't care but if by Friday I don't hear anything about who killed Bernard from you guys, consider  yourselves dead men. NOW GET OUT OF MY SIGHT NOW!!!!!!!"

My dad shouted at his men and they all left leaving me and my brother standing before him dumbfounded

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing old man" Xander said

"What did you say?" My dad said walking to Xander

"I said nothing"

"Why do I have a feeling you're the one who killed him?" My dad asked him and the only thing he did was to laugh

"Listen George I didn't kill your stupid henchman so please don't accuse me"

"Did you just talk back at me I am your father at least show me some iota of respect"

"My father? I wish I had a father you're just some man I live with you disowned me remember? So don't call yourself my father besides I can talk to you however I want" Xander said and left

My dad and I just stood their in awe especially me cos if I ever talked to my dad in that manner he would probably have me beheaded but Xander and Glory talk to him anyhow they like and be doesn't do anything, that's what I want

"Jace, listen to me if I find out your idiotic brother has anything to do with this I will kill him, just letting you know" my dad said and left

I just became stiff cos if my dad finds out I was the one he is so gonna have me killed but I don't care I have to protect Riele. I have to go to the store.
I had my bath, got dressed and started walking to the store, when I got there and I saw Riele talking to Darryl and she was smiling widely I wonder what they are talking about I entered the store

"Hey Rie"

"Hi Jace"

"Sup man" Darryl said

"So, what're you guys talking about?"

"It's nothing"

"Are you sure cos you're blushing"

"Seriously" she covered her cheeks

"I just asked Riele to go on a date with me and she said yes" Darryl said happily

"Really, I'm so happy for you guys"

"Thank you"

"So Jace what brings you here?" Riele asked

"I just wanted to check on you that's all, again I'm so happy for you"

"Thanks again"

I left feeling sad, I can't believe she moved on already after all we never confessed my love for her so she can do what she wants. I walked into my house and saw Ella

"What's up cuz? You will never believe I just met?" She said

"I'm not in the mood El" I collapsed on the couch

"Why are you so moody? Anyways I'll tell you, I met Conceited and here's the interesting part, he's Riele's uncle"

"I don't care please just leave me alone"

"Fine, grumpy much" she left

I just sat there almost at the verge of tears but I had to let her go even if I never had her

Sorry I haven't updated in a while I was working through some issues but here is another chapter I hope y'all like it
