Side-Story/Side-Prequel: Rose's Intentions

Pink Diamond was a kind girl. She had many talents, but a downside was how selfish she could be at times. Ever so often, she'd hurt the people close to her. She was very unlucky, for when she tried to do her best, she'd fail miserably or be set back by something happening.

One day, the woman had gone to the hospital for a checkup. Her appointment was mixed up with someone else's, and eventually, Pink had a sperm inserted into her, which caused a medical accident: Spinel Gem.

She returned to her elder sisters, extremely embarrassed and in tears. They rejected her and saw her as a disgrace, screaming and yelling in agony. The Diamonds did not believe her when she told them about the accident. They kicked her out the next day,

And so, with the little money the doctors had given her when they realized they made a large mistake, Pink Diamond rented an apartment far away from the city, somewhere in the countryside, but not too far.

Months later, Spinel Gem was born. Pink Diamond was astounded at the child, who had proven to be entertaining throughout the years. She had loved to play with this small being, and taking care of it was a minor inconvenience.

But of course, the sisters had found her.

They demanded on a phone call that Pink Diamond abandon the child, or leave it for adoption in a center somewhere.

Or even, kill it.

Pink Diamond believed all life was precious, and she couldn't stand for that.

So she begged and pleaded her sisters for more time, and made constant excuses to stay with little Spinel.

Oh yes, the tiny child had no idea how cruel the world was around her. All she believed was that she'd play games, eat, and sleep. Forever, and ever, and ever.

But that was a lie.

Soon enough, Pink Diamond was forced to make a decision. She did not have the heart to leave the kid to strangers.

So the woman decided to leave her daughter to the very people that wanted her dead.

Pink Diamond brought Spinel to see people besides her own mother for the first time. The mother had to show these women that Spinel was an extraordinary daughter that should be welcomed with open arms.

The elder Diamond sisters knew their youngest sister was an idiot.

Although the moment they saw little Spinel, they couldn't resist her charm. They all playfully fought for her attention as she played with toys brought to her from each of the three.

Most of the toys belonged to Pink Pearl, named after Pink Diamond. The other small portion were old toys that belonged to the Diamonds when they were younger.

Night came around, and Spinel and the Diamonds reluctantly said goodbye to each other.

Fortunately, Pink Diamond had got what she wanted.

Her sisters to accept her own daughter.

And so, a week later, Pink Diamond was ready to say goodbye.

She didn't have the essentials of a mother, for she could be extremely selfish. She also didn't have any money or income source, since the other Diamonds refused to give her any payment.

The two were going to be evicted soon enough, and Pink Diamond wanted to finish her schooling to become a psychologist.

She had her heart set out to leave.

Pink Diamond couldn't forgive herself for seeing Spinel as a burden. But in her heart, she knew what had to be done if she wanted to have the life she desired.

She stressed and prepared for what she was going to tell Spinel. She knew well that the six-year old was not going to let her leave. No matter what speech, monologue, or even reasons she gave Spinel, the human child was determined to stay with her mother
till the very end.

Pink decided to disguise the disappearance with a "game."

She had completed packing her things. It was time to leave.

Pink Diamond entered the car, and drove off. She looked in the rear view mirror at the place she once called home, and then at the girl waiting patiently, smiling like an idiot.

She couldn't have felt worse.

But it was time for her to live for herself.

Fast forward to a long and stressful trip through university, Pink Diamond graduated and became a psychologist. In between her schooling, as a part time job assigned to her from her sisters, Pink had babysitted for three kids; Pearl (Pearl) Gem, Garnet Gem, and Amethyst Gem.

The trio, nicknamed the "Crystal Gems", lived separately from the Diamonds, since White, Yellow, and Blue were focused on raising Spinel, Pink Pearl, Yellow Pearl, and Blue Pearl.

After one long day of work, Pink Diamond was on her way to the three siblings' house. She had finished babysitting them after her work hours came to a close. Her babysitting jobs were rare now, since she had already graduated.

Pink Diamond was surprised to notice a man selling T-shirts and singing. She slowly walked over, stars in her eyes.

She introduced herself, and that developed into an intimate relationship over the years.

The man named "Greg" had changed her. She grew out her hair, changed her name to "Rose Quartz" and had significantly changed her attitude.

Her reasoning for changing her name? Her words quoted, "I don't wanna be a dumb Diamond anymore! I don't want to continue this, th-this-this legacy they've forced onto me! I'm not going to go with it at all! I'm gonna be a totally different person!Pink Diamond is dead! And now...Rose Quartz will be born!" Greg fell even deeper in love with her during this moment.

She grew immensely as a person, and by this time, if Spinel was in her hands, she'd easily be able to raise the girl.

But by then, Spinel was busy grieving about how her own mother left her. Whenever someone asked her about it, Spinel would answer, "I used to be mad, but now I know, sometimes it's better to let someone go."

The older she became, she realized how the world was much different from how she saw it as a little girl.

Of course, she saw her mother as a terrible villain. Spinel's view twisted over time when she thought about all the challenges Pink Diamond might've had to face, while Spinel was trapped in a daydream of happiness and sunshine, oblivious to the terrible and disgusting world surrounding her.
