Chapter 34

"Home."

Yoongi simply said as he inhaled the air once arriving in Daegu. Of course, Jimin and Seoul are his home too but Daegu will always be home no matter where life leads him to.

Growing up, the Min family didn't have much. The brothers used to help financially by doing odd jobs in the neighborhood for their allowances. The situation changed when their Appa was offered early retirement by the company he was working for and used the retirement money to open a small convenience store adjacent to a close relative's restaurant.

With the family's combined hard work, the business grew. And when Geumjae entered culinary school, they decided to take over the restaurant next door when their relative offered to sell it to them. They were also able to afford to send Yoongi to Seoul when he got a scholarship in a private arts high school where he met Namjoon. While Geumjae stayed to help the family business, Yoongi stayed in Seoul to establish his music label with Namjoon. As much as he wanted to go home frequently, his job prevented him from doing so.

The producer smiled when he saw his Appa waving at them with a huge grin outside the train station. Yoongi looks a lot like his mama, but the famous gummy smile definitely came from his father.

"Appa!", Yoongi said as he hugged the older Min tight. The last time they saw each other was during the Christmas holiday. The couple only had a week of break which they divided between their families. Although they make sure to see their families several times a year, it's always never enough.

"Ugh. Yoongi-chi, not too tight. Your appa is no longer the strong man that used to carry you to bed whenever you get too tired to walk and pretended to be asleep on the couch.", Min Appa said as he laughed when Yoongi still refused to let go. Jimin giggled beside them loving at how affectionate Yoongi is to his father. The producer always gets soft and whiny when with his family. He is their maknae after all.

"Sorry, appa.", Yoongi apologized when he finally released his father. "I just missed you so much."

"I missed you too, son.", the older beamed. He then turned to Jimin and embraced the younger as well.

"And I missed this handsome young man! How are you, son? Is Yoongi treating you well? Just tell me if I need to knock some sense out of him. Don't you worry. I may be older and more fragile now and he's already this big shot producer and CEO, but I'm still his appa and is still very much capable of bending him over my knee to discipline him with my trusty leather slipper."

"Appa!", Yoongi protested as his face burned with embarassment. He can't believe his appa just casually told his boyfriend that he can still get a spanking in their home at his age. 

Jimin laughed.

"Oh, I will definitely take up your offer on that one, appa. I'll be sure to tell you immediately if Yoongi-chi needs an attitude adjustment.", Jimin teased his blushing boyfriend.

"Har-har. Funny. Can we go home now, appa? I'm hungry and I'm sure Jimin is too.", Yoongi interrupted the playful banter, sulking at being the butt of jokes.

The older Min smiled fondly at his son. Still grumpy especially when hungry, just like his mama, he thought.

"Okay. Let's go. But we're going directly to the restaurant. Your hyung is already there and wants to personally prepare your lunch.", his appa told them as he led them to his car.

The couple became excited at that information. Yoongi missed his brother's cooking. He can't wait to eat and bond with his family. And as he looked out and observed the scenery on the way to their restaurant, he can't help but feel giddy upon seeing the familiar streets and establishments. He is definitely home.

"Yoongi-chi! Jimin-ah! Welcome home!", Mama Min greeted the two with a huge smile and open arms. The couple immediately went to her and wrapped their arms on the petite but feisty woman. She then cupped her son's face and peppered him with kisses making Yoongi blush once more.

"Ma... not in front of the customers!", Yoongi whined as he pretended to wipe off his face. Mama Min frowned and reached down to give her son's backside a quick swat.

"Yah! Don't disrespect your mama like that. What's wrong with showing my son a lot of affection? If you just show your face here more frequently then I wouldn't be missing you this much.", Mama Min wagged his finger at her son who's currently rubbing his stinging bottom. She may be small but has a strong hand and swing. She then turned to Jimin with a sweet smile.

"Come, Jimin. Let's go to the kitchen and watch Geumjae cook. We'll ask him to prepare all the food that disrespectful brat hates.", she teased as she linked her arm to Jimin's and guided him to the back of the restaurant. The dancer glanced at his boyfriend with a mischievious glint in his eyes before he was whisked away. Oh, Jimin is enjoying this!

Back in the kitchen, Geumjae beamed upon seeing his fellow cook.

"Jimin-ah! Welcome back! Are you here to help me cook?", the chef asked smiling. He's currently preparing several meat dishes since his dongsaeng prefers meat over seafood.

"Just to observe, hyung. I don't want to ruin the dishes you're cooking.", Jimin answered shyly. While Jimin is a good cook, his skills are nowhere near the chef's. And no matter how many times Geumjae teaches him how to prepare Yoongi's favorite dishes, he can never make it taste just like Geumjae's. Yoongi always compliments him but Jimin knows that his boyfriend still misses the food that his hyung personally cooks for him.

The chef laughed, effectively interrupting Jimin's train of thought.

"Don't be silly, Min-ah. Come, get an apron and join me here.", Geumjae urged making the younger blush and Mama Min giggle. Jimin has always been shy around the older, probably intimidated by him given the wide age gap. They've always teased Geumjae about it, hence, he always makes it a point to be nice to Jimin and include him in his cooking as a way for them to bond.

"Just make sure not to make it too delicious. The brat outside does not deserve a good meal after complaining about my kisses.", Mama Min huffed. She and Yoongi are so much alike that they clash frequently, but they're also the closest in the family so Geumjae knows that his mother does not really mean her request.

"Okay, mama. Don't worry, Jimin and I got this. Why don't you hang out with Yoongi outside? I'm pretty sure you missed him. Let's pretend that I don't know just how much.", the chef teased his mother. Mama Min rolled her eyes but excitedly went out to the dining hall to reunite with her youngest.

Once the older was gone, Geumjae guided Jimin to a space in the kitchen where they can work without disturbing the other chef and cooks. They began to work in silence, with the older once in a while giving directions to Jimin. They've cooked together plenty of times before so they basically already know how to  act around each other in the kitchen. It took them about an hour and a half to finish the whole meal. It would have been quicker if Yoongi did not came in to bother them halfway.

"Oh, God, hyung! This is sooooooooo good! You really are the best!", Yoongi moaned as he took a bite of Soondaeguk, his brother's specialty. The family is now seated in a corner of their restaurant, enjoying the meal Geumjae and Jimin cooked.

Geumjae smirked.

"Is that how you sound in the bedroom?", the older brother asked eliciting a shriek from their mama, a swat from their appa and a furious blush from Jimin.

"No... that's how Jimin sounds", Yoongi returned the smirk.

"Yoongi! Oh my gosh!", Jimin giggled while hiding behind his tiny hands to cover his pink face. Mama Min looked scandalized while their appa looked liked he couldn't decide if he should be embarrased or proud of his sons.

"Min Yoongi! Min Geumjae! That was not funny. Stop it this instant! It's our first meal as a complete family in a long time and this is how you act? I raised you better than this. Behave.", Mama Min scolded her sons who just high fived each other.

Jimin observed the close knit family with a fond smile. He couldn't believe he got this lucky with Yoongi and his family.

Yoongi, meanwhile, caught Jimin's eyes and smiled warmly back at him, glad that the younger seems to be back to his old self and is enjoying so far. Despite their recent struggles, Yoongi knows that they're going to be just fine.
