Chapter 42

Chapter 42: Way Back into Love

Flynn's PoV

I smiled as Duke fluttered his eyes open.

"Hey, Love. You woke up early, hm?" Duke said as he nudged closer to me and hugged me. I just smiled at his cuddly action and hugged him back.

"Malamang. I want to stare at your face pa, ih," sabi ko at saka sinuklay ang kaniyang buhok gamit ang mga kamay ko. He just snuggled up closer to me at niyakap pa ako ng mas mahigpit.

It's already been two months mula nang mangako ako kay Duke na babalik ako. And a month since I came back here in the Philippines.

Dahil nga maayos ang paghihiwalay naming dalawa ni Duke sa airport, we had communication when I was in US. We filled our everyday with talks and calls habang busy akong mag-proseso ng mga papel ko.

I was very much excited to go back here noong nasa States pa ako. I've started to miss every cuddle we had when we were together.

And when I came back, we've had much more cuddles than what we made before. Since I'm now finished with my residency, we had a little extra time to waste for ourselves.

I was startled when I felt Duke moved away from me. He stood up and stretched for a bit before gazing his eyes on mine.

"Get dressed. We're going somewhere," ani ni Duke at saka lumapit sa akin para halikan ang noo ko. My forehead creased as I looked at him with curiosity.

"Saan? Akala ko ba tambay lang tayo sa bahay?"

"It's a secret. You'll know it when we get there," a small smile escaped from his lip as he said those words to me.

I just nodded at him in return bago ako bumaba sa kama at pinuntahan yung mga gamit ko.

Yep, I've been staying in his house ever since I got here. Although Mama and Papa already know that I'm back, I've already told them na dito na ako kay Duke didiretso dahil 'yon ang gusto ni Duke.

They agreed to it dahil nga wala naman silang ideya sa naging issue naming dalawa ni Duke dati. Though I feel guilty for not telling them, kaya sinabi ko agad 'yon kay Duke.

He told me that we can always tell them anytime and he's ready for any criticism that my parents might throw at him. Agad naman akong pinamulahang muli nang maalala ko 'yon.

Knowing that he adores me that much, enough to accept my family's hate (if they'll have one) by the time we tell them the truth, made my heart beat erratically. I felt, somehow, loved and adored by his words.

Anyway, mabilisang gayak lang ang ginawa namin dahil sabi niya, marami pa raw kaming gagawin pagka-rating namin doon. Napanguso na lang ako dahil ayaw niya pa rin talagang sabihin sa akin kung saan kami pupunta.

This scene really looks familiar. Hay, déjà vu.

"Seatbelt, Love," mahinang bati sa akin ni Duke nang makaupo na ako sa front seat. Napangiti naman ako dahil sa mga sinabi niya bago ako tumango.

"Okay, saglit lang," I said to him with a smile on my face at nakita ko namang tumango na siya. I placed my bag on the backseat bago ako nag-buckle ng seatbelt ko.

"Did you forget anything?" Tanong sa akin ni Duke habang nagbu-buckle yung seatbelt. When he faced me, umiling-iling lang ako sa kaniya at saka ibinalik ang tingin ko sa harap."

"Wala naman na yata. At saka 'di naman tayo magtatagal 'di ba? Tara na."

"Right. Okay, then."

Duke started his car kaya naman abot-taingang akong ngumiti sa kaniya bago muling ibinalik ang aking tingin sa harap.
