Chapter 23: Icings and Candles

Flynn's PoV

We left Baguio as soon as we finished our lunch.

I was totally hesitant at first dahil nga nag-eenjoy na ako sa Baguio. Especially nabitin ako dahil ang ikli lang ng stay namin sa city.

But he said we could always go back sometime in the future. I just shrugged at him and just agreed to him. Ano pa nga bang magagawa ko?

We spent almost six hours travelling before we could actually get back home. Na-tempt kasi akong mag-punta sa ilang stops along the way kaya nag-tagal ang pag-byahe namin.

Duke didn't seem to mind dahil kapag sinasabi ko sa kaniyang gusto kong pumunta sa isang lugar, pumapayag lang siya, making the whole travel a big road trip.

Baguio was great and the road trip was even greater, but what actually made it so memorable, is because I was with Duke the whole time.

I know that were still progressing our relationship, and it is not exactly at a point where we are actually so comfortable with each other, but I can feel Duke's efforts to make our risk worthwhile.

I mean, I can't expect Duke to just fall for me too as soon as I did. Unlike me, I know it's harder for Duke to fall in love, lalo na't mukhang wala naman talaga siyang planong mag-karoon ng romantic relationship in the first place.

Anyway, after all our stops, nakarating na rin kami kaagad sa bahay by late afternoon. Manang Tere immediately greeted us as soon as we got off the car.

Ipinapasok na lang ni Duke sa ilang kasambahay ang mga gamit namin at dumiretso na kami sa kuwarto namin para makapag-palit kami.

Though medyo na-worn out ako dahil sa dami ng ginawa namin ngayong araw, I still felt the urge to go to the kitchen and do something.

"Hey, Love."

"Hmm?"

"I'll just go to the kitchen."

Napalingon sa akin si Duke dahil sa sinabi ko at kaagad ring tumango. I just smiled at him bago ako lumabas ng kuwarto at mag-punta sa kusina. Medyo nakakagutom din kasi yung naging byahe namin, eh.

The kitchen was completely empty nang makarating ako doon. Mukhang nag-papahinga sina Manang Tere kaya hindi na akong nag-abalang tawagin pa sila.

I opened the fridge to look and get the ingredients that I would be needing for what I'll be doing. Inayos ko na rin ang mga gagamitin ko para dire-diretso na lang ako sa paggawa.

Naalala ko kasi ang isa sa mga naging bonding namin ni Mom Louisa. We made desserts for us to eat after a meal. I think that was when I first met her.

Funny enough, natakam ako sa dessert nang maalala ko 'yon. That's why, I decided to make one now and serve it after dinner later.

I cracked some eggs and whisked it while humming a song. I added some flour then mixed some more ingredients for the base.

Okay, let's get this cooking craze started.

Third Person's PoV

As soon as Flynn closes the door, Duke stood up from his desk than quietly went out.

He answered the phone call from his secretary when he felt his phone ring. May inutos kasi siya rito and he was expecting immediate results.

"How are things going on?"

"Sir, the items you requested are now delivered. I have also fixed the set-up and placed the other items beside the table."
