"Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning." - William Arthur Ward.

We made our way up a small hill, Edmund and I leading the way. At the top we came to a stop, Edmund looking around at the view in front of them, I was too busy looking at the oddly shaped rocks at the base of another remnant to notice it.

"Edmund!" I said calling him over to what I had found. "Come and look at this!" He made his way over to where I was looking and kneeled down next to me to examine it, as the others walked to catch up with us. Edmund frowned looking back up at Cair Paravel.

"Catapults." he explained in a simple word.

"What?" Peter asked, not catching on. Edmund hesitated before glancing back at his siblings, then at the ruins.

"This didn't just happen, Cair Paravel was attacked." he revealed his frown deepening at the thought. His siblings looked down to the ground. A small sad silence overtaking the group.

After a moment, Peter and Edmund made their way up the hill to a part that was really overgrown. They had to rip the branches that were covering the opening down, just to get through. Susan, Lucy and I hesitantly followed them, we saw them move the heavy sliding stone in front of an old wooden door. This spiked my curiosity, it was like a secret entrance I had read about in my mystery books. The door was old and dusty, it looked like it hadn't been used in hundreds of years. Peter made a small hole in the door with a knife, to open it, to reveal a dark stairway leading downwards. I walked forwards, ready to go in the castle and explore, but Peter stopped me, before I could enter.

"Woah, hold on for a second!" Peter instructed gently pushing me over towards Edmund, stumbling slightly on the uneven ground, Edmund caught me and glared ever so slightly at his older brother.

Peter ripped his shirt that was hanging just underneath his navy jumper, before wrapping it around a short stick he found on the ground. We all shared a look of confusion. "I don't suppose you have any matches, do you?" he asked Edmund, as he finished tying the shirt. Edmund looked through his bag.

"No, but would this help?" he asked holding up a silver torch he had brought from home. Peter looked at him and sighed.

"You might have mentioned that a bit sooner!" Peter said amusement clear in his voice. Edmund smiled cheekily, before looking back at us and grabbing my hand, leading me down the stairs. Peter chucked the stick with part of his shirt, and let his sisters go before him.

"He's right you know, you could've told him!" I lectured Edmund, as I was stood just behind him. Edmund laughed before shaking his head.

"Where's the fun in that?" he asked impishly. I breathed out a laugh and gently swatted the back of his head.

"You're such a dork!" I said. This made Edmund laugh harder, as he rubbed the place I just hit.

"Yes, but I'm your dork." he spoke hopefully squeezing my hand. I rolled my eyes playfully, before adding,

"That you are." The stairs spiralled down, before coming to a slightly lit opening, from the cracks on sunlight peaking through the destroyed ceiling. Lucy looked over the scene in front of us. Four chests stood in front of four tall figures made of marble. The sunlight hitting each one in a gentle way. Making them look like they were glowing. Quickly, she followed us, we had already left down the rest of the stairs. Large, black, intricately designed gates blocked the area with the chests. Peter gently pushed them, to open them a crack.

"I can't believe it! It's all still here" he announced joyfully. The three younger Pevensies made their way to their chests. Peter had a look around the edge of the room and I followed Edmund, I feel like a lost puppy. Like I didn't really belong and I wasn't needed. To distract myself of these thoughts I looked at Edmund's statue of him as an adult. I looked over it carefully, he was really handsome, he still was. Edmund noticed my fascination and decided to tease me.
