"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control." - Unknown.

The Narnians walked back to the Howe defeated. I could feel the tension between Caspian and Peter, but decided not to dwell on it. Edmund still had a hold of my hand, I had only just noticed, so I decided to pull away before he noticed it had been there for too long, as much as I liked him, I would rather keep him as a good friend, than ruin it all, because I was stupid enough to think he ever liked me back. As we reached the entrance I saw Lucy's disappointed face.

"What happened?" she asked so quietly, I could barely hear her.

"Ask him." Peter spat glaring at Caspian. I was appalled, he was as much to blame for what happened, he couldn't pin this all on Caspian.

"Peter." Susan scolded him.

"Me?" Caspian asked shocked, facing the High King. "You could have called it off, there was still time." he said quietly, but venom was present in his voice.

"There wasn't thanks to you. If you kept to the plan those soldiers just might be alive right now." Peter said, clearly upset that his idea failed.

"And if we just stayed here, like I suggested, then they definitely would be." Caspian almost shouted. I looked between the two, I didn't know whether this was going to be another small argument, or a full blown fight, but I wasn't excited to find out.

"You called us remember." Peter tried to remind him squinting at the Telmarine prince.

"My first mistake." Caspian claimed. This comment made me slightly upset that he called our arrival a mistake, just because he was mad at Peter, doesn't mean he had to insult the rest of us like that.

"No, your first mistake, was thinking you could lead these people." Peter corrected walking towards the Howe.

"Hey! I am not the one who abandoned Narnia." Caspian shouted, his voice making me jump. I shot a caring glance at Edmund, knowing it was still a sore subject for them all.

"You invaded Narnia. You have no more right to lead then Miraz does," Peter started, as Caspian brushed past him, heading towards the Howe. "You, him, your father," Peter continued, this made Caspian freeze in his place. "Narnia's better off without the lot of you." Peter finished. Caspian turned around and yelled, Peter clearly cut him deeply with his words. They pointed their swords at each other, ready to fight.

"Stop it!" Edmund yelled, making them both pause, and look at the severely injured Trumpkin, who was carried by another Narnian. Lucy rushed forwards, as we all knelt around him, giving him some of her healing cordial. I had had enough of their arguing and walked up to Caspian and Peter.

"I suggest you both stop acting like children, stop letting your egos clash and work together acting like the High King and prince that you should be." I quietly hissed at them both, pointing between the two, storming away from them back to Trumpkin disappointed, so they couldn't argue with me, even though they were both speechless. Caspian stomped towards the Howe. Trumpkin finally awoke from healing and looked at the people around him.

"What are you all standing around for? The Telmarines will be here soon enough." he grumbled and everyone backed away. "Thank you, my dear little friend." he finished, thanking Lucy, she paused and smiled at him. Edmund and I walked around the outside of the Howe, away from what had just happened, unsure what we should talk about.

"You did well back there." Edmund congratulated me, as we sat together. I blushed and looked at my lap.

"Thanks," I replied awkwardly. What is going on? I am never this awkward. "Thank you, for what you did, you saved my life, more than once." I thanked him. Edmund looked down at me. I looked around his face slowly, taking in the features I had missed previously, as he drank up the features on my face. I saw his freckles, that disappeared slightly when he smiled or laughed. How his nose was so similar to Lucy's, his jawline that made the swords in the armoury jealous, and how his lips were perfect, even with a slight scar on them, from when he cut it open in their first trip to Narnia. Glancing back up at his eyes, I saw he was also looking at my lips, then back up at my eyes. Is he going to kiss me? Slowly, we both started to lean in, our eyes fluttering shut, as we got closer to each other. This is it, I can do this, even though it is my first kiss, what could go wrong?

"Edmund, Arabella, come quickly, it's Caspian." Susan shouted to us. Dammit Susan. We pulled apart awkwardly I let out an awkward cough, and followed after Susan, both of us glancing at each other every few seconds. All of us went to the stone table, to help Caspian.

"Stop!" Peter shouted at the entrance, rushing forward. That's when I saw it, a wall of ice built up, until it touched the roof. With a blonde woman with sickly green eyes, reaching out to Caspian, I knew who it was, it was the White Witch. Caspian was stood in a chalk circle, with a werewolf, Nikabrik and a hag stood around him almost ceremoniously. Lucy and Trumpkin went after Nikabrik. Edmund went after the werewolf. I went after the hag with Peter. Kicking her off him, when she pinned him to the stone table. She let out a shrill cackle, as she went flying into the wall. I went to finish her off, as Peter pushed Caspian out of the way. "Get away from him." he shouted, as he raised his sword towards the ice wall. I stabbed the hag, and saw Edmund slash the werewolf to the ground, and run around the edge of the room, I didn't question his action, and went to help Caspian on the floor.

"Peter dear, I've missed you." she said, reaching out to him. "Come, just one drop, you know you can't do this alone." she said enticing him. Peter lowered his sword in a trance.

"Peter!" I shouted repeatedly, trying to snap him out of it. It didn't work, until a sword sliced through the back of the ice wall, shattering it completely. Revealing Edmund stood just behind it, his head turned away from the sharp shards of glass. When he looked at us anyone could see he looked pissed.

"I know, you had it sorted." he spat, walking away without another word. I wanted to follow him, but I knew I had to wait the right amount of time. If I went to soon, he wouldn't have time to cool off, and would shout at me straight away, but if I waited too long, he would've started to sulk, and send me away no questions asked. So after a brief second I followed him out to where he was sat on the outside of the Howe. He knew I was there, but didn't say anything.

"Are you alright, Ed?" I asked from behind him, trying to relieve some tension. Clearly not, stupid question.

"No, I'm not alright, Bells." he snapped at me. I expected this, but at least he was still using my nickname, so that's a good sign.

"So what's bothering you." I questioned, sitting next to him. He shot up and ran a hand through his hair. I followed him with my eyes as he paced.

"Everything alright." he almost surprised me with his harsh tone of voice. "Peter thinking he has to do this alone. Fighting to regain Narnia. Caspian and his attitude. The White Witch nearly returning. Aslan not helping us with anything and you." he continued listing them all.

"Me?" I asked very confused to what I had done.

"Yes you, the way you invade my thoughts all the time, and how I secretly hate any other guys that talk to you, because I wish it was me." he continued. I was shocked, I would never believe Edmund Pevensie would like me more than a friend, so I stayed silent. "I like you Arabella, as in I like like you, but I know you don't like me back and only see me as a best friend, so I'll save myself the rejection speech." Edmund said sadly, walking back towards the Howe. I could barely comprehend what was happening. By the time I came back to reality, he was nearly back at the Howe with his head hung low. So I did the only thing I could. I ran after him, and kissed him.
